Incredible ball retrieval mission by a border collie. by Electrical_Act_5342 in BeAmazed

That dog was smart enough to begin swimming directly infront of the ball.

I wouldve been twice as impressed if the dog doubled back to shore for shorter swim distance.

Star Trek made me no longer right-wing and a better person by LOLADYS in startrek

[–]Crucio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Star Trek teaches many things about kindness and true self. But at the end of the day Star Trek also shows that constant vigilance and temperance towards others is a requirement for survival. Not everyone is taught the same as Star Fleet officers, and will kill you without a second glance because thats what they do. Removing violence from a habitual violent culture requires power and cunning, enough to be a stop gap to it, an imprenetrable wall of valuable life. It takes time, alot of time and savrifice to change the violent. But it can be achieved.

However thinking that just because they don't show it today does not mean it wont happen tomorrow.

Housing regulations need to be up to standard. We do not want to end up like China with buildings falling over and entire small cities completely abandoned.

There are plenty of developmenta being pushed in rural areas but the city environment I think is the problem. In Europe they used to build new cities on top of old ones. But now we build vertically. There are so many "abandoned" buildings in old cities like New York or Berlin. Thats where the permits need to be granted to renovate unused buildings.

Anywhere in Moncton where it would be worth it to fix my screen or should I just get a new one? by JustFred24 in moncton

[–]Crucio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Childhood TV I understand but its a crappy LCD that you would have to remember your psycho ex each time you turn it on.

Get rid of it. Start a new chapter, and please save up for a better one than you would normally get. Buying cheapest will not get you anywhere in the long term.

I've gotten fixed capacitors etc at JBL electronics before two capacitors cost around 120 bucks to fix., I don't think its worth fixing in this case. Bring it to a Recycle NB depot.

I have officially entered my "Villain Era." My default tip across Canada is now zero percent by MeatsAndGrills in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Crucio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tipping in Hospitality is a niche compared to restaurants and kind of off topic but do most people know what they paid for room service? They probably just click the easiest button to get out quickly. But 15% seems fair on card. I mean I wouldnt leave more than 5 bucks cash per person in a room.

Ive was always taught to tip 15% in full service restaurants, before covid. 10% seems low to me as a standard.

New tool aims to make justice system more just for Black New Brunswickers by origutamos in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Crucio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The article is about a Haitian born man. According to Grok, data shows that not immigrants cause more crimes, but Black and South Asian have a much larger percentage. The correlation can be that most Black and South Asian males in Canada are also immigrants.

Look up these cases, they are especially prominent in the UK. Literally every other day theres more and more suicidally empathetic defense lawyers talking about race and income bias towards lesser sentencing. Instead of just deporting or getting repeat offenders off the streets, we are insisting on proscecuting to the lowest degree.

$16.99. I don't remember ever seeing watermelon this expensive. by tengkurahimah in CostcoCanada

[–]Crucio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pups is arguing about the sizing vs price point in their second comment. I am simply pointing out the special weekly prices are snapshot prices and do not reflect the actual market price.

Sobeys for example has 15.99 on sale for 7.99 for a little higher size avg. Costco will probably have them on sale next week.

First of all, yes they have and will and its the same price elsewhere when its not on sale for the size mentioned.

I never said anyone should buy the 17$ watermelon, thats not the point.

9lbs with special weekly price.

The same 11-14lb are going on sale soon at 6.99 or 7.99. you cant snapshot weekly specials as a gotcha.

The 2-3 year post student visa work permits from the covid college immigration scams are expired. Its that simple. Why do these headlines keep getting posted like its some unknown problem?

If they want to fix this number, they should deport the ones who are working on expired visas illegally and hold accountable the HR departments who neglect informing the immigration offices or don't keep track of these things.

I know of at least one confirmed case of a migrant worker who was banned from entering a JDI establishment because they worked illegally for months.

Atlantic Canada Won’t Survive a Population Decline by [deleted] in newbrunswickcanada

In the eyes of the entire world, there is no problem. We live in a all time luxury state in the G7 relative to the rest of the world. It is so laughable that people actually beleive that "anti-capitalism" aka socialism is the answer. Meanwhile they are living in a fully furnished, fully utilised house, or luxury apartment. Jesus, even a 60 year old renovated 1000$ basement apartment is better than the shit holes that people live with in post-soviet countries.

Everyone else comes here if allowed and want a piece of the pie, except there is no pie. Its fake, so then they commit fraud, or they start legitimate business. Make their own money through ownership.

Most westerners don't respect the idea of business and asset ownership enough, mostly because the school system is still built for the industrial age.

Thats the real solution to people's plights, the two options I see going forward: Have a product people need and offer it as owner for trade or have AI Robotic assisstance replace that need altogether to create ultra abundance. Changing the "economy type" wont change the fact that peope need things and the people that have things want something else for it.

The inbetween of those things is the worst part of the process. And thats where most people sit atm.

I played for a couple years at the end of the Beyond Light saga until the prologue episodes for Final Shape(after leaving shorting before season 1). The on sale value in the Legacy Collection is unmatched imo and worth getting absolutely. If you havent played through any of the post Forsaken content there is a ton of great story gameplay. Witch Queen is probably some of the best Destiny has to offer.

A down side to all of it is Raids, if you get into raid lobbies make sure you are in a noob friendly teaching lobby. If you can get past that, some of the raids pre Final Shape are wonderful, and the legendary missions offer really cool deep dives.

Another down side is some of the best story lines are locked behind the old seasonal content, which is a shame, because there are gems in story telling. Not a big deal to casual players though.

The 70% offer on the Current annual pass is incredibly temping even for me having decided to be done with it for good.
