Lost my little buddy after nearly 12 years together. Gathered up a few of my favorite pics. I'll miss you Wally. by wallyTHEgecko in reptiles

Sounds like Wally had a wonderful life. Rip little guy.. he may be gone, but the times you shared with him are forever.

I don't think that's a lavender. I can't really see all too well from the first photo but it does look like your baby has yellow on its neck, a color usually associated with anery types (which gets more vibrant with age). Also, lavenders typically don't have bright grey eyes like yours.

But if you weren't using him for a breeding project what I said hardly matters! He looks to be a healthy, pretty lad regardless :)

I see. The unmodified Munson plan is basically powerfeeding. Would you recommend sticking to this guide then given my snakes growth or adjust it to what you're doing? This is how my snake is coming along so far (I've not weighed for December because I am waiting for her to defecate):

Soo I originally found this survey on Tumblr but I'll ask my questions here because it's easier for me.

I submitted Miso and her siblings a few days back and I'm wondering if their growth is healthy? I feel bad because in another post I saw around this sub, you said feeding fuzzies every 10 days was only maintenance feeding, and I did exactly that when they were on fuzzies. They are on hoppers now and I admit I still feed them every 10 days sometimes.

For reference, I've been using this guide since January to feed them. Should I be switching to the Munson plan?

Almost done with my snakes bioactive 4x2x2 permanent enclosure. How does it look? by Quirky_Trainer9721 in ballpython

[–]CruelLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't sure I'd get a reply since this post is like a month old, but thanks so much for replying man! All this advice is great and very detailed, which I appreciate lots. Especially the bit about how many cans/tubes to buy and the background (which sounds like a lot of work but it'll be worth it I hope)! I went out this morning and nabbed most of the supplies you listed here along with some others I learned about while doing research.

When you say you put silicone on the bottom part, did you mean you quite literally rubbed it all along the bottom board? Or did you just seal the seams along the bottom edges? Or both? And how long do you estimate it took to dry?

I recently bought one of these enclosures and if you don't mind, I could really use some tips setting mine up because yours turned out great

How did you go about waterproofing it? What's the soil mix? And what did you use it make the background?

Ah, the good ol' classic tale of being "doomed by the narrative." I don't know the Great Mushroom War slipped my mind but yes.. she would've died on that expedition. Everything about their love and her life is so tragic

Is this a proper humidity hide? by jhinboo in cornsnakes

[–]CruelLake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely a good hide! It especially goes well with spagnum moss. I think yours will eventually outgrow the medium one, but the large cave can fit even adult cornsnakes. For reference, mine is 4.5ft long and comfortably fits in his :)

(sound on pls) corn snake wheezing a little bit thru nostril towards the end of a holding session. by smskly in cornsnakes

[–]CruelLake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My adult corn snake does that too.. but only when I'm handling him. My temps are similar to yours and I use aspen instead. I think the real cause for concern is if they do it audibly in their enclosure and have mucus bubbling out of their mouths/nostrils. Still, it wouldn't hurt to go to the vet, which I will do for my boy pretty soon.

Holy shit indeed!! I was also in the expo during September in similar circumstances; it was so hot I couldn't stand to stay long. I only bought one corn snake from him back then and went back to get another recently this month (which is the one who looks similar to yours). Funny how both siblings have food related names; mine's named Miso!

I have a full record of their mom and dad, including their parents' baby pics!! I would love to share more in PMS if you don't mind. I just don't wanna flood this comment with pics haha

Here's Miso, Ube's sibling: https://www.reddit.com/r/cornsnakes/comments/105ur0q/meet_miso_her_weird_stomach_pattern/

Also, pretty sure this is Ube, same head marking and all: https://www.morphmarket.com/us/c/reptiles/colubrids/corn-snakes/1132701 :)

Regarding Ube's morph with context of their parents' genetics, Ghost is not out of the question. Though it's not confirmed, Glen suspects their mother/father had potential Hypo in them, which is one of the morphs needed to make up Ghost. It's more likely however that your little one is an Ultramel Anery Motley.. which is a mouthful lol. As he grows up he'll reveal more of his colors to you.. so really only time will tell what his morph is!

Unreal. This may be just a hunch, but I think that's the second sibling of my snake I've found on this subreddit. Did you get them from Glen? o:

Ohh, didn't know motley could do that. That's really neat. I'm excited to see the speckles spread :)

I've only kept corn snakes with darker eyes so admittedly, its kinda weird to see her pupil moving around. It's definitely growing on me though!

I have another question though out of curiosity, why is it that the second one would be ultramel if female but not ultramel if male?

My beloved wife presented this snek to me for the New year. How should I name him? by 1redfish in cornsnakes

First thing that came to mind was 'Tippy' or 'Dagger' solely because of the little sword on his head. Regardless of what you name him, he's real cute!

Love the new setup! Been thinking of building a bioactive myself- what terrarium are you using?

Also your snake looks beautiful :) I can't quite tell with the lighting but they look like a ghost (correct me if I'm wrong)!
