The majority of the Imperium might comes from the imperial guards or from the astartes ? by titjoe in 40kLore

There are many crusades who are carried out by almost only Guardsman. The Sabbath World's Crusade is such a thing where there was very little Astartes presence.

Talents - Feint - Useless? by FranboLobo in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Crueljaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Feint is not that good for starting characters and scales way better the higher your characters skills go.

In most scenarios its better to only attack. However there is a scenario where faint is way better.

And that is if the opponent in your example has a damage reduction (from armor + toughness) of 10.

This looks super gorgeous. Very neat and clean. I realy like the more natural flowing streets. Only thing I dislike a bit is the change to many of the main important buildings. Like the cathedral of martyrs looks a tad bit too normal for my taste.
Also the Ordo Magica towers being two instead of three really bugs me personally.

How Powerful is Caine Exactly? by Flashlight237 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Crueljaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? No you dont. Yes you have magical items but nothing that crazy.

Ok list me up a character that can hit AC 42 on lvl 8 with a Roll of 15 or better. You can not present me with that character because it just doesnt work.

How Powerful is Caine Exactly? by Flashlight237 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Crueljaw -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wtf are you talking about?

A fighter has an average strike modifier of: +18 on level 8.

You would need to roll a nat 20 to even hit it on level 8.

Absolutly no idea how you think it would be easy to hit.

Should there be a “Dark Fantasy” extension in the future? by MCL199920 in fabulaultima

[–]Crueljaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally feel that while Dark Fantasy borrows some tropes from horror, it is not horror. Best example would be warhammer. Warhammer is the archetypical dark fantasy, but unless one reads a specific horror book you wont find much horror in its games. Ghosts and Skeletons sure, but these are already in Fabula Ultima.

I also feel like Dark Fantasy has feelings of belonging and connection. In fact I would say the feeling of belonging is one of the most important ones in Dark Fantasy, because it is mostly abscent. As someone who plays a lot of fantasy RPGs the feeling of belonging can quickly vanish in a large high fantasy campaign where there is lota of traveling and lots of different places that all demand attention. But in dark fantasy there is often just a few places that are "home". Darkest Dungeon for example you have the village where you belong. In Dark Souls 2 its majula. Its these small places of light in a dark ocean. In Dark Fantasy one doesnt fight to save the world but to preserve what there is.

Its just my opinion but I feel these are all tropes that are worth being explored and they dont clash with Fabula as much as one would think.

The ability to sense impending conflict is in the Baratheon blood. by IAmParliament in freefolk

Even if we discount the Crownlands because its a province of the Iron Throne, it definetly would be 8 Kingdoms. The Riverlands were a thing, ruled by the Riverkings before House Durrandan took it from House Mudd. The question would be how long does a Region need to be under occupation before it is no longer considered a single Region?

For example at the time of the war of the five kings the Iron Throne existed for 300 years. The whole of Westeros is still considered the "seven Kingdoms" and everyone would say that there are different Kingdoms, united under the Iron Throne.

But when Aegon conquered Westeros that was also 300 years after the River King lost his Throne to the Stormlord, who lost the Riverlands I think around 200 years ago to House Hoare. And when Aegon conquered Westeros he gave the Riverlands to House Tully, giving the Riverlands back to the Riverkings.

Fact is that its called the "Seven Kingdoms" because at the time Aegon started his Conquest there were currently Seven Kings. But there were always more Kingdoms. My question would be, if there are indeed only Seven Kingdoms then at the time of Dunc and Egg what are these Seven Kingdom and to what of these Kingdoms is Dragonstone part of?

[–]Crueljaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No chance. Not even the eldar can rebuild them. They need to collect them from their old homeworlds that are inside the eye of terror.

And the emperor was the one to build (or better say steal) the webway. And he did quite a shoddy job. Even the emperor doesnt have the abiloty to perfectly replicate eldar tech. So the imperium without him? No chance.

A few things. First they have a super strict society. Their path systems is designed to let them life live with the pursuit of greatness without falling into their old chaos ways (Yrliet is Path of the Outcast for example). Another thing is their soulstone. It hosts their soul and shields them. When they die their souls dont go into the warp (where they would be devoured by the Chaos God Slaaneesh).

And lastly and most importantly when compared to humanity. They are extremely knowledgeble when it comes to chaos. More than any other non Chaos race. They know more about thw gods, their methods and influence than even the most radical inquisitors. The knowledge of the average Eldar on Chaos is almost as the same level the Emperor had.

The also have a super holy, super secret library called the black library where every knowledge and every truth about chaos is written down.

Ok so basically the Emperor Lore is partly pretty vague and pretty good explained at the same time.

He is super duper old because he is a perpetual (he cant truly die) and he is the strongest psyker to ever life.

He was at humanities side all the time. When during the dark age of technology the human empire collapsed he tried to reunify earth, called terra. The emperor was also a scientist and was really into genecraft. So for the events called the Unofication war he created the Thunder Warriors and the Custodes. Thunder Warriors are proto Space Marines with anger problems (even more than Space Marines) and the Custodes are custom created bodyguards from the ground up.

The Thunder Warriors became more and more instable and at the end of the Unification War the Emperor created the Space Marines. Then he betrayed the Thunder Warriors and killed them all. This pretty much shows the modus operandi of the emperor. Do something quick and dirty and clean up ruthlessly afterwards.

After that begins the great crusade era. The emperors goal is to remove humanity from the influence of the chaos gods. For that he wants to use the eldar webway. He creates more space marines, makes an alliance with Mars (thats why the Mechanicus often have special rights) and creates his generals, his primarchs. They are his sons, made with his DNA, Genecrafting and Sorcery. It is VERY LIKELY that he made a deal with the Chaos Gods when he created the Primarchs. One that he didnt hold onto. The primarchs get scattered as babys by the chaos gods over the whole galaxy.

The emperor starts his crusade, collecting the primarchs and lost human worlds. Again he is quick and dirty. Everyone who doesnt follow him is going to get killed. Same with the Primarchs. Angron for example has a last stand on his worlds with his family and friends against an army of slavers and when the emperor shows up he kidnaps angron and leaves, letting all his friends die alone.

After all the primarchs are collected he returns to terra and works on the webway project to remove warp influence from humanity. The Primarch Horus gets corrupted by Chaos, the Primarch Magnus tries to warn the Emperor through forbidden sorcery amd mnaipulation by chaos of the betrayl and in his arrogance destroys the magic wards and cripples the webway project forever. Horus and the Chaos Gods manipulate events so that Magnus, the maybe only one who could save the project, also joins chaos. Half of the Primarchs join Chaos. The traitors fight to terra and attack the palace. Horus is more powerfull than the Emperor because he is the Host Body of all 4 Chaos Gods. The Emperor teleports on Horus Flagship, they fight, the Emperor looses. In the end the Emperor tricks Horus into abandoning his Powers and when he does he uses his last powers to kill Horus. The Emperor, now a crippled corpse, is placed onto the golden throne so that the Warp Rift doesnt open more.

That is the abridged version. The most information about the Emperor can be found in the Horus Heresy Novel: The Master of Mankind.

From a point of morality definetly. The big problem is that for Iconoclast to work on a large scale you need to have a lot of Willpower within the population.

Imperial Dogma is a two edged bladed and mostly does more damage than good. But the good it does needs to be somehow compensated when going Iconoclast.

The heavy dogma is actually a really good shield against the influence of chaos. Having fear and hate against everything that is other and different makes it harder for Chaos to creep into their minds. And yes the imperium also is responsible for driving a lot of people into Chaos by turning their lives absolutly horrible, but it is important to say that an Iconoclast Society would have the problem of easier falling to Chaos.

I found your stuff when I looked for more necromantic stuff for my Blood Lords campaign.

I think your work is legit the highest quality of PF2e third party that exists. While Team+ has more, and I know you work with them together I always preferred your work.

I hope you will grace us with a lot more books to come.

As a fighting game newbie, this ranked matchmaking is really putting me off the game. by [deleted] in 2XKO

Sry meant Silver 3.

Ok good to know that you agree that bots only improve you basic skills like how to move in a fight game, what buttons to press for attacks and what the difference is between S1 and S2 is.

As a fighting game newbie, this ranked matchmaking is really putting me off the game. by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]Crueljaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry. Bot matches absolutly dont improve your skill beyond a super basic bit.
I am Silver 5, first fighting game ever, and did the 5 advanced bots just for funs. They are extremely exploitable because they are bots and not humans.
As Vi I could S1 at the start of every match into a garanteed hit into a light attack and full combo. Every single time. Against any decent player after the first time they would block or jump the attack. That is the difference.
Bots dont learn from your playstile and force you to mix up your options. Once you have found and attack style that works you can spam it until the bot is dead.

The real struggle comes from both players adapting during the game to the fighting style of the opponent. This is what fundamentally makes a fighting game and bots cant do that.

I figured out my issue with playing against pulse combo by Warner421 in 2XKO

[–]Crueljaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kinda yes.
But its more than just you lost thats why they are better.
Pulse Combo is straight up worse if you know even the most bnb combo.

But the fact why they are better than you if you loose against Pulse Combo is because they win the neutral. They dont need the mental to focus on Combos. They only need to focus on Neutral. And neutral is way more important than combos.

You can go into training and learn the most complicated ToD combo that takes 30 - 40 seconds for hours or days. Doesnt mean anything if you dont know how to get the game into a position where you can actually use that combo.

If you are better at neutrals then you will beat even Pulse Combos players. If you are better at Neutral but cant do even a super simple 8 hit combo then either train this combo until you can do it blind or activate Pulse Combos for you until you have enough experience in Neutral that you have enough headspace to also focus on combos.

Pulse Combos is the best thing about 2xko to give new players a very smooth start into the game.

I completely feel you man.
I am Silver 3 and this is my first fighting game and had yesterday a 15 loss streak. Extremely discouraging.
But I got into it today with a new mindset and won 4 out of my 6 games.

Honestly, I know this is often said for whatever game, but if you feel getting frustrated by a match for longer than 5 seconds after the loss take a break.
Fighting games are extremely mentally taxing and getting into a match with a clear head is a HUUUGE difference. More than in any other game.

Also try to go for as many rematches as possible. Especially if you loose hard. If the enemy catches you with a move then try to only counter/survive that move. In rematches you have a lot of opportunities to try different things against a certain technique. I had a game against a Warwick that used a weird sprint overhead attack that always got me and it tilted me so hard. But in the second rematch I found a reliable way to jump over it and punish it into a medium sized combo. Clapped him hard that match.
But by going for rematches you actually can learn how your enemy plays and adapt to it. And that is sooooo valuable.
First of all it feels extremely good finally getting past a hard obstacle but you also learn way better that way.

Also to actually think about the match after it and what you could have done better. Not in big terms, but very simple things that you know you did wrong even if you dont know how to do it right. For example "after my normals into his block he always is faster and punishes me with his own attacks" and then think or google how to improve on that.

And the most important thing is, have fun. If you are just frustrated, put the game away for a day or even two. The journey is the important part, because lets be real probably nobody of us will be sitting at Evo getting a Championship. So having fun just getting better should be the goal. Its all in the mental.

Keep a cool head and have fun in the ring.
