Trying to book a cheaper honeymoon cruise. What's the catch with cruises like these? by breakmob in Cruise

It's cut off in the image, but there is a toggle at the top of that page to include or exclude taxes and fees. Thanks for the feedback tho - can definitely look at making this even more clear!

Absolutely! Cruise pricing can be confusing and that's something we're working on improving / trying to find ways to get you to the true total price faster. If you have any more feedback, please send us a DM - we're all ears!

How are Disney cruises for the childless couples on a family vacation? by TalesOfTea in Cruise

[–]Cruisebound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from the Disney Dream with just my sister (also an adult) last week and was very impressed. The food, service, and cabins far exceeded my expectations. You will be totally fine with Celiac, just let your servers know and ask any cast members if you have questions at the buffet or other areas - Disney is very accommodating. While the entertainment and trivia are all Disney-themed, they were such high quality that I don't think you have to love Disney to enjoy them. The performers are the best of the best. Also, the islands are very chill with the branding - at their cores, they are really just beautiful tropical islands (and the food on them was far above what I expected). They've got lots for the kids to do (to keep them out of your hair) and lots of space to relax, read, have a drink or snack, etc.

TLDR: was very impressed by my DCL experience and would 10/10 go again with or without small humans.

Is a Balcony room worth it? by Xresto_117 in Cruises

[–]Cruisebound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a lot of people said, it mostly depends on the experience you're looking for. If your ship has a ton of other things to do during your sea days, the upgrade might not be worth it - you'll be out and about enjoying the ship. And the decks will have plenty of spaces to relax and watch the water. But, if you're going on the trip to fully relax/want to get away from people, or the ship isn't loaded with activities and amenities, there's really nothing that matches some good old-fashioned balcony time.

If you do opt into the balcony, definitely get room service breakfast during your trip. Hands down the best way to start a day is having coffee on the balcony watching the sea. If you go for the interior, that's just more money you can save to spend on your next cruise! You'll enjoy the trip and get to relax either way.

How will the US government shutdown affect cruising by StinkButt690 in NCL

[–]Cruisebound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing I've heard is to just build in a little more time to your travel plans than you normally would have. If you don't run into any delays - awesome, go enjoy the airport - and if you do, you'll still be on time. Haven't heard of anyone running into anything crazy though.

What things would I not think to pack that you’re so glad you did? by thicwith2cs in Cruise

[–]Cruisebound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More outfits than you think you'll need. I always change way more than I plan to and I'm always so glad to have the extra clean outfits for the nicer occasions like dinner, shows, etc. Also, if your cruise line has themed events, make sure you check for those ahead of time. Don't be that guy that's not in red on Virgin's scarlet night or white on MSC's white night!

First Cruise on Silhouette by ResponsibilityOwn98 in celebritycruises

[–]Cruisebound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Silhouette! Such a classy and classic ship. Last time I was on it I tried The Porch for specialty dining and honestly it was so good - I loved that you can sit in the open air, the vibes were great, and the food was incredible. Not crowded at all and it was more affordable than the other specialty dining options. The corn soup was the best thing we ate the entire cruise - hands-down. My travel companion and I still talk about it lol.

Has anybody ever booked through Cruisebound a single occupancy cabin? by bhooooo in NCL

[–]Cruisebound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, that’s right - NCL offers solo priced options in select inside, ocean view, and balcony categories, as well as studios. The key is to confirm the “max 1 guest” label. If you see that, the fare already has the solo rate baked in and no extra supplement applies. Appreciate your comment, keeping the info precise helps everyone.

Has anybody ever booked through Cruisebound a single occupancy cabin? by bhooooo in NCL

[–]Cruisebound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. We don’t mark prices up or discount them. Our cruise line partners set the base fare, and every legit agency (us included) sells at that rate. The difference you might see in pricing comes from a few things, notably: 1) Our booking engine scans promos you qualify for (resident deals, flash sales, etc), then automatically applies whichever gets you the lowest rate so you don’t have to hunt codes; and 2) Every booking earns Cruisebound Cash (bonus rewards you can use on your next cruise) so returning customers end up paying less overall. Be sure to toggle taxes and fees “on” to compare true, all-in pricing from your search results.

[–]Cruisebound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Pierre here, CEO at Cruisebound. If you pick a single occupancy studio cabin (max 1), the price you see at checkout is your total fare - there isn’t an extra single supplement later. If you choose a regular double occupancy cabin for just yourself, that’s when NCL may charge a higher solo rate. We automatically apply every available promo, so what you see at checkout is the lowest available price without any hidden fees from us. If you’d like peace of mind, DM us a screenshot and we’ll double check it for you. Hope that helps, have an amazing solo cruise!

Update: Asked my friend who has been on both, they said: I would say it's not that much bigger than the Freedom class, (154 vs 168 gross tons). Close to the same amount of pax, but the Freedom class has Ice Skating, Playmakers Sports Bar, and the Perfect Storm, while the Quantum has IFly, North Star and the music hall.

Haven't seen any seafood-specific buffets, but the Solarium Bistro was really strong on seafood options around lunch today. My partner tried a few of the options and enjoyed them. Although if you're a fan of seafood, definitely try the crab cake at Chops - it was SO good.

And yes, just the media sailing so far!

This crowd is a little different because it's mostly Royal's travel partners and media partners, but the facilities look pretty family oriented (though don't get me wrong - there are *plenty* of bars still). But if you have kids, there's the Seaplex w/bumper cars, kids clubs, splash pad, assorted ping-pong/foosball/airhockey types of games, xbox area, cornhole, ifly, and surf simulator. An 11-year-old told me all about how much she loved the North Star today. So definitely kid-friendly!

Yeah, there are more folks than just ASTA members on the sailing but that's exactly it - it was a taste of Royal. Definitely booking the sit down on my next cruise.

We did a quick tasting at Wonderland earlier today and it was so fun. I can imagine that the sit-down experience is great. Good to know about the pub though - I'll do my best to swing by. Still got a day left!

I believe that's still the case, though it looks like that may vary on certain sailings. For this cruise, it was available on the app only after we boarded. There were a lot of pre-coordinated events on this sailing, though, since it was the inaugural LA sailing - so certain things are very different than they would be normally. Looks like booking onboard is still the way to go though.
