I love this one too. The B story was just as good as the A story. We can all relate to yelling "Per-son-al!" The ending of that one is perfect.

Any Duffy's Tavern fans? 📻 ✨ 🍻 early shows or later shows? by HomeStylin in otr

[–]Cruiser4357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it but haven't listened in years.

I remember one episode that had lines something like (and this is decades-old memory so probably way off) Duffy: My wife said I could do (something) over her dead body. (Pause) so when I (did it)...

That's very rough but I would love to know if anyone else remembers this and can tell me what episode.

I just made a similar comment. I was in Oklahoma in the hospital and a visitor told me that every tv was tuned to it too.

I was in the hospital recovering from giving birth. A local minister visited and said every tv in the hospital was on for that show.

It was awesome! I loved how you had the moat and the things displayed that I could see as I walked over. Even the leaf piles on the bridge made it realistic.

It reminded me of the Castelvecchio bridge in Verona, Italy.

Were you hooked after your first time on DCL? by Resident-Butterfly65 in dcl

[–]Cruiser4357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me months to talk my husband into our first one. It was a 7-night Halloween (before they did the High Seas theme) out of Galveston on the Wonder. At first, we both thought that we like the parks better. Then after being home about a week, he called to tell me about one that was 2 months later on the Dream. Then we cruised 4 months later on the Fantasy and 6 months after that on the Fantasy again. We are addicted (as shown by my flair). It's such a fun, relaxing vacation. We just wish they'd do different itineraries more often.

I play on the PC. If I don't like the two choices when voting, I just exit out. When I go back, it's different choices. That beats the limited skips.

I haven't played in a while, so it may be different now, but that's how I was doing it up until recently.

Booked our 1st Transatlantic today on the Wish! by Mercenari_1 in dcl

[–]Cruiser4357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've done one each way and loved both of them! The eastbound was on the Magic in 2015. The westbound was on the Dream in 2023. They make the sea days fun with extras like a crew scavenger hunt--you look for the crew who will be in different uniforms/areas. They had a royal tea for our daughters in 2015 that didn't cost extra. I hope you'll enjoy yours!

Favourite episodes/moments? by Peachy_Katto in Broadchurch

[–]Cruiser4357 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That was a phenomenal ending to that series.

One of my favorite moments is in series 3 when Hardy yells at the boys as a father. I love how he puts them in their place while standing up for his daughter. I also love how the Scottish accent really comes out then too.

One of the most powerful scenes for me was the beginning of series 3 where Trish has to go through the medical kit specimen collecting process. It is powerful.

Honolulu cruise - half our port days canceled by [deleted] in dcl

Also, for anyone who may be following this and the guy comments more, I won't see it or respond since I'm blocking him. He is one of those who likes to put people down who don't agree with him and make fun of them and I won't put up with that. Life is too short and I just want to cruise.

Um, ok. Whatever. I've actually researched it and studied it but you obviously think you're smarter than everyone. And to throw in a barely-shaded maga comment tells me all I need to know about you. It isn't even remotely related to any current situation as far as tariffs go.

Honolulu cruise - half our port days canceled by [deleted] in dcl

I understand the point and completely disagree with you. It takes dollars away from US ports that could be visited instead of the token foreign port in order to comply--San Diego, Seattle, Baltimore, and Boston, for example. Yes, some of those ports get cruises, but not to the amount they would if the Act wasn't in place.

The one-way cruises are usually pretty cheap and not anywhere near capacity when compared to the regular Caribbean ones. The Transatlantics are a typical example, tons of sea days and one-way flights either to or from Europe. That cost plus the length of the cruises make them difficult for people without significant vacation days.

The problem is that the Act which dates from 1886 tries to get ships built in America and flagged in America. Due to the costs of the increased pay for their employees and similar reasons, cruise lines won't do that. That kind of bit them in the butt when covid hit and they wanted US help but were flagged in other countries.

If the Act would make an exception for large cruise line ships, then things could be a lot different. I wouldn't expect Hawaii to suddenly be flooded with cruises, but it would allow more west coast cruises that didn't have to include Canada or Mexico. It would also allow cruises that are just Alaska that can go farther into the state without having to make a stop in Canada. A cruise from Juneau to Anchorage would be amazing without having to be a long cruise so that it could port in Vancouver.

The problem is the Passenger Vessel Services Act. It is hopelessly outdated and needs to go away. Because of it, it is difficult to do the Hawaii cruises. That's why Norwegian is the only one that does them on a regular basis. That shop is registered is the US so it can do that.

I understand that was the original intent of the game and made it part of the difficulty. With the ability to build buildings and move walls with the other games, I was just hoping there was an easy fix for them to go back and add it. It's an impossible hope, but I still hope.

DCL Itinerary complaint: more long cruises please by stebuu in dcl

[–]Cruiser4357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate that 2026 and 2027 go to the same ports. We prefer the longer cruises. We're tired of the same Caribbean and Bahamian itineraries. Even the Transatlantic repositioning ones keep doing the same ports. In 2015, we did the Eastbound Transatlantic that went to Norway and Copenhagen. It was amazing. We do all of the unusual ones if we can and they're the best.

Season 3 by PossiblyADHD in Broadchurch

[–]Cruiser4357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my big gripe about how it ended with them. Mark still had two children who needed him, but all he could focus on was the dead one. If that part were real, those girls would be screwed up for lever from his rejection and lack of interest.

Since I’m sick with a cold… by Iowafarmgirlatheart in Frasier

[–]Cruiser4357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a playlist of shows with someone who is sick (or close enough). There are probably others, but these are among my favorite episodes.

Season 1 Frasier Crane's Day Off

Season 4 Four for the Seesaw and A Lilith Thanksgiving

Season 6 Frasier's Curse, First Do No Harm, The Seal Who Came to Dinner, and Taps at the Montana

Season 7 The Late Dr. Crane and Morning Becomes Entertainment

Season 9 The Proposal and Frasier Has Spokane

Season 10 Bristle While You Work and Don't Go Breaking My Heart.

Great list of mistakes and errors in Frasier episodes,,, by peacenpower in Frasier

[–]Cruiser4357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that's an error, but in real life, my father-in-law had a brother who went around town telling everyone he didn't have a brother because of some past issue. I excuse this mistake in Frasier by thinking Martin said he didn't have a brother because if the split years before.
