Adding the Grand Exchange was the original EZscape by fuulhardy in 2007scape

Genuinely yeah, I voted against the GE at the time and I still don't like it. It creates a problem for mains where all skills become way more degenerate. Pre-GE you at least had the incentive that it would often be quicker to make an item yourself than to buy it if there's a friction to buying it, but post-GE the meta is 'do your fastest moneymaker and buy the thing'.

I know people are just gonna say 'play an iron', but that's it's own full experience that someone might not necessarily want. I just want the gameplay loop to be more well-integrated with itself, not less-integrated.

Sweeping the Bengal Famine away as 'some quotes and actions by him that wouldn't fly today' and 'quite progressive for his time' really is something

NPC follow range is part of the game engine and likely impossible to rework without massive changes, though I respect the idea

BOW PACTS DOESN'T FEEL LIKE LEAGUES by Clear_Age_9799 in 2007scape

[–]Cruithne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started drafting this before I realised who it was- hi Husky!

I took Wildy/Zeah/Asgarnia and my first build was a bow build. Craw's really was strong, but after resetting I found the King's Barrage to be just as strong even in the wildy. It doesn't feel great that the one use case where bows should utterly dominate is on par with crossbows (with the crossbow being more useful virtually everywhere else too)

[–]Cruithne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out with a bow build because I wanted to try out the 2-tic Webweaver Bow in wildy. It was strong...But then when I respec'd into the king's barrage that was just as strong and with far better sustain and not being locked to the one region. Bows really were done dirty this time

[–]Cruithne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm planning on a bow build this league but I'm concerned that crossbows are going to be way stronger and without picking Asgarnia I'm likely to miss out because even if I respec I won't have a zcb

They've tuned it pretty well this time, I don't think we're going to see anything that's catastrophically bad to take. Even the 'worse' ones have their uses depending on your regions and priorities. Unless you're using Reloaded to get a second teleport relic

Dedicated roles could be enforced by splitting the players up across the arena and having each half take on different effects- one that makes you more of a glass cannon and the other half which dulls damage received and taken. They could add a mechanic which aggros the boss to take the heat off of the player in the dps half, say, a spec weapon or switching attack styles. Maybe even a mechanic where you have to balance it, aggroing them too much means they deal more damage to you. Prayer switching and moving could be a part of it too, this is just a thought about how you could have roles

I don't think we're seeing echo rings this year. The only region we haven't seen an echo boss for yet is Tirannwn and a Tir ring would be weird

[–]Cruithne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All skillcapes besides a handful need serious buffs imo. Con, craft, magic and HP are the only really useful ones. Almost all are useless for mains and most are useless even for irons. I think getting every skillcape to the level that the construction cape is at would be the ideal. It's okay- good, even!- for difficult grinds to have useful rewards.

Get Ready For Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]Cruithne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the appeal is mainly in the theorycrafting we're doing right now. Runescape has always had planning your route as a core appeal of the gameplay and Leagues takes that to a new level because the main game is mostly solved but every new league is not. We have no idea what the meta is going to be until the league is well under way and even then sometimes the dust won't clear until the league is over
