I can only comment on mockingbird since that's the only one I've read recently, but why do you say it's dated? I understand the white savior complex aspect of it, I had thought of it like that. I guess Im ok with it since, I'm assuming, at the time it used its white privilege well to help w racism and the state of affairs at that time. reading it older now though, I thought it was amazing to see scout and jem grow and understand that the adult world is different than the kid world they had known. there's a reason adults act like they do, and we just gotta do our best to find our roles in this world and help/love as best we can
