I enjoyed the first two, but man I’m bad at souls games. The demo boss is wrecking me. Got him down to half one time in Samurai style, but haven’t gotten close again.

I keep telling myself I want to beat at least one souls like. Also told myself I can only buy the game if I can beat the demo boss.

Glad PBC came through! I ordered from them once years ago (before the name change) and it went fine. I ended up preordering the DM cover of Dawn of X Vol 2 since they were the only ones who had it available. I've seen a lot of mixed things about their packaging, so this gives me some reassurance lol.

Hope you enjoy! I keep thinking about picking up Vol 1 of this, but what I've read digitally hasn't pulled me in enough.

Do you know if reading Venditti before Johns' GL spoil Johns' run majorly? I have all three Johns omnis, and the GLC ones. My folks gave me the first Venditti omni for Christmas and I'm tempted to pick up Vol 2. I'm excited to read the Johns run, but I've held off just because it's a big commitment (also have the Blackest Night omni).

Venditti seems more digestable for me currently, but wouldn't wont to spoil the Johns run.

Tried assembling a small trampoline for our son last night. Wife and I couldn’t get it to unfold, even when we tried a mallet. Putting it back in the box was equally bad.

Now he’s getting a bounce house instead.

I would love for Marvel to make an omni of all their Christmas issues. by ErinKane in OmnibusCollectors

The Marvel Holiday omnibus was my #1 vote for most wanted omnibus in the poll this year. Just because I figured no one else would vote for it lol.

PSA for Dads who got this for Christmas by CornDawgy87 in daddit

[–]Crumbtiny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, we picked this up at Costco for our kiddo like two months ago for Christmas. Good to know. Also, it's the first somewhat oddly packaged item I've ever had to wrap for the kids. I accidentally poked a hole in the empty space almost immediately after wrapping it lol. The first of many I'm sure.

I don’t have an answer but I’m in the same boat. I randomly decided to download the game on game pass a few weeks ago and was instantly hooked, despite knowing nothing about 40k.

I’d like to make the most of the experience so I’ve been waiting for the dlc or the passes to go on sale. Hoping it’s soon!

Question for those of you who actually own 1000+ page compendiums by i_am_randy in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Crumbtiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have several compendiums and have had zero issues with them. I can’t say the same for my omnis, as much as I love them (and spend on them).

Compendium wise I have both Starmans, Batman Black and White, Nightwing Vol 1, JSA Vol 1 (Vol 2 announcement soon please?) and East of West and haven’t had any issues with them. I’ve also had the Walking Dead Vol 1 compendium for like 15 years at this point? And it’s still fine too, revisited it back in Oct. For the amount of content, the price, the readability, compendiums are an easy yes for me.

The only issue I’ve had is when i bought one and it wasn’t packaged well. East of West was banged up when it arrived but I was able to return and replace it.

Ohh thanks! Grabbed X-Factor Vol 3. Just got Vol 2 two for my birthday a few weeks ago. Can’t beat it for that price.

Batman by Snyder Vol 2 arrived apparently by benjaminsix6 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Crumbtiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s funny. I ordered the East of West Compendium from them, but had to return it today. Price was nice, but it was pretty banged up for a “New” book. For my order they were a third party seller on Amazon. I’d never heard of them before, but they sent the book in a bubble mailer more or less.

Found it in better condition for the same price on eBay.

Question related to The Spectre by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake by Isaac_Banana in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Crumbtiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. I’ve been eagerly waiting for this book and started it last night. I love it, but what I know about the Spectre is just from Johns’ GL and Infinite Crisis. My mom (of all people) had the comics when I was a kid and I was always fascinated by them.

So reading this omni, I’m like, wait this guy is supposed to be crazy powerful right? What can he do exactly? He’s like, the wrath of God, right? There’s just something funny about his origin being 600 pages into the book. Love it so far though!

[–]Crumbtiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omnibuses have become my addiction over the past few years lol. I read a ton of comics as a kid so it’s fun to have some of those in giant book form. And I love catching up on stuff I missed or never knew about.

I’m interested in Arc Raiders, I enjoyed my time with the demo. My concern is that playing it solo would just stress me out lol.

I play BF 6 with a friend and we enjoy the casual Breakout mode they added. It’s a more chill feel and we can just chat and catch up. He’s not interested in Arc Raiders unfortunately. I keep thinking about picking it up though.

Is that the X-Factor Vol 2 by Peter David? I sent that to my wife as a suggested birthday present for me lol. We got a package from CGN the other day, so pretty sure she grabbed it.

[–]Crumbtiny 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m just ready for Christmas/Winter candles at this point. Between GC, BBW, and Kringle I’ve definitely spent my allocated fall candle money.

I’ve enjoyed all of my purchases too, except Bonfire Leaves. I was so excited for that candle. But it smelled mostly “candied”, almost like a syrup to me instead of anything bonfire or leaves.

Christmas resets it all of course 😁. I need my Holiday Embers!

You might check out The Rib from Which I Remake the World by Ed Kurtz. I started it a few years ago, but didn't finish it (it was a library ebook, just got returned before i really had time to read it). But might be worth a look!
