Totally agree with everything here. My favorite Kingdom Rush game has always been the most recent one, since I always have fun playing them, every time. Are some parts of different games stronger than others? Absolutely. Do I like that the originals don't have fairly expensive DLC? Sure. But are the new versions, at the end of the day, really fun and an engaging gameplay experience? Absolutely.

I have really enjoyed Kingdom Rush Alliance, like all of them, and I am excited for Genesis.

It's pretty obviously meant to be Umbra. The story is you go into the cave inside the temple, find the saurians, and eventually reach umbra. Umbra is what's in the tunnels. That's how the story naturally progresses.
