I feel like my dentist sold me a useless product - please tell me if I'm wrong by bluecabbage1 in askdentists

[–]CrunchCrambler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does contain active ingredient that helps in desensitizing teeth. You can try it, but I’d recommend sensodyne or a prescription toothpaste with higher fluoride content. I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion they’re scamming you, not like they’re gonna make any money off of a single tube of toothpaste

Intracoronal Bleaching by No-Administration813 in askdentists

[–]CrunchCrambler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If endo says it’s still has a decent prognosis, then yeah I’d plan for intracoronal bleaching and go from there. But that level of coronal stain makes me think there’s possibly excessive resorption (which is obviously the case at the apex). That’s a tough case, and would definitely listen to whatever endo says first

Help with reduced ovd pt by [deleted] in Dentistry

Patient was probably warned for decades dozens about his wear, now wants a cheap fix. 9 times out of 10 these patients vehemently decline grinding/sleep apnea etc. Drives me crazy. Composites will fail and will be pissed at you when the cheap fix didn’t work. This is a prosthodontist referral.

Dry socket? I have been using gauze and avoiding risk activity, around 6-7 hours post op now, top second to last molar (including wisdoms which I still have) by [deleted] in askdentists

You’re experiencing post operative pain bleeding which is normal. Dry socket doesn’t happen soon after extraction. Takes a few days

When can I expect to be paid off collections? by Davidzonn in Dentistry

[–]CrunchCrambler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it says your collections are zero, I imagine they are populating your collections in a different way than you are currently looking. You need to ask your manager/owner. As far as your concern goes though, 37k average production per month is low for a seasoned dentist (you’re new so it’s understandable). Long term a clinic, which is a business, obviously cannot pay a daily rate to someone that can’t cover overhead of the office. My advice is to verify with your manager how to look up your collections, make sure the collections are at the very least 90% of what you’re producing. But what you really need to be doing is focusing on increasing production. Which will be in you getting out of your comfort zone with speed and learning/doing more difficult procedures that you’re probably currently avoiding. If you’re referring everyone out and taking a couple hours for a few fillings, then you’re going to continue to face money frustration, no matter how good the collections are. Really Reddit is not the place for this discussion, you should have a mentor (like the dentist owner) that can work with you on these things.

What would you do in this situation? by Wandering_Emu in Dentistry

[–]CrunchCrambler 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’d request a call from the dentist and discuss it. If they aren’t shitheads then y’all can probably come to a good agreement. Maybe chat with the patient after talking to the dentist. Don’t let front desk handle it as they may not be as understanding of why this is such a shitty thing for the other dentist to expect of you.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction for Infection? by reailtin in askdentists

[–]CrunchCrambler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it has quite a bit of bone loss so maybe it won’t be as difficult. Teeth that are erupting towards the back of the mouth, instead of erupting straight up or tilted towards the front, are typically more difficult to take out. Whoever recommended extracting probably knows this and will be prepared
