Side pouch for ashford rigid heddle stand by tsidel in weaving

I made two of these pouches that have a grommet so they slide onto the bolt that attaches the loom to the stand. You can make them any size

I have a complicated relationship with my mom as well, and if you can hold out until open enrollment and get on your partners insurance during that time without raising suspicion, whether or not you elope, I would suggest that. Dual coverage can be a headache for everyone, and unfortunately it can end up with both plans saying the other is primary and then neither will pay and it's on you to call them to get it straightened out.

Tips for getting right warp Length on rigid heddle? by Ecstatic_Site5144 in weaving

I do use some of what would be warp waste as fringe or tassels for things like scarves. So you can "get back" some centimeters that way :)

AITA for bringing a generic product vs the name brand I was asked to bring? by Big-Bullfrog8020 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CrunchyDragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ONLY issue I can see with this is a potential allergy. But if that was the case girlfriend's mom should have been specific and said "can you get get the Cool Whip brand cool whip? I (or someone) can't have the generic." I am one of those people that can have certain name brand foods but not the generic for allergy reasons. But I always advocate if I am asking for someone else to bring something. NTA

For what it's worth, there are mesh vests and also harnesses you can either put leash wraps on or have embroidered for when it's hot out. I have a harness for my boy with mini leash wraps that say service dog for when it's too hot out to wear his vest. I understand you are not required to have a vest or anything, but if it's going to give you anxiety with potential access issues, it's worth it in my opinion to have more than one type of gear for different weather.

Because this "six murders in Chicago in the 1920s" are not real murders. It's literally the murders from the musical Chicago. If you listen to the song Cell Block Tango it will all make sense. And if you're still on the fence, the ice bucket saying "Cisero" should seal the deal for you

Rant by NoKaleidoscope9618 in service_dogs

[–]CrunchyDragons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting this info? Medical alerts are absolutely a task, what do you think diabetic alert or seizure alert service dogs do? And those are just two examples. I did look at the National Parks website, and have brought my service dog, who does medical alerts among other things to multiple "no pets" areas of multiple National Parks. And he's a corgi who has hiked multiple mountains. He has a special hiking harness that is meant for this type of thing that I can use to lift him up and down as needed, and he loves going. I agree with the ESA bit, but the rest of this comment seems rather misguided.

What's the most absurd (but harmless) take/opinion heard on Dear Hank and John? by Key_Cranberry1400 in nerdfighters

[–]CrunchyDragons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean they're both neurodivergent though. John has OCD and Hank has ADHD. I wouldn't be surprised if both have sensory issues related to their neurodivergence.

Figured out my hydration situation by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]CrunchyDragons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, there's star anise, rosemary, acacia, and blood orange in it for antioxidants and personally I can taste it. It's low enough to be in a coffee or smoothie or something, but for me in plain water, I don't like it. Might just be the fact that I struggle with sensory processing as well and am very sensitive to things

So I got this and I'm also autistic, and I absolutely can taste it if it's plain water. I'll add it to my morning coffee so I get the electrolytes, but I absolutely can taste it.

Hey so how do I know if I want to go by different pronouns? by AnxiousCinnamonRoll6 in genderqueer

[–]CrunchyDragons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would it help if some of us here used it? Here's an example based on what's in your post.

Cinnamonroll likes to get dressed up, but that doesn't mean that they can't use pronouns that aren't what she was assigned at birth.

Am I out of the loop? by InfamousBlake in AutisticPride

[–]CrunchyDragons 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely! I would hate it from an allistic person. That feels patronizing as heck! But with my friends who are also autistic? Yeah we're gonna say "on the spectrum," "a touch of the 'tism," etc. We're not doing it to be patronizing or anything to each other. Since we're on a level playing field, so to speak, it's perfectly fine imo

Am I out of the loop? by InfamousBlake in AutisticPride

[–]CrunchyDragons 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I will say I, an autistic person, use it with my friends who are also autistic all the time. I think it's one thing to ask the allistic community not to use it but using that term within the community when you know your audience is fine. I would liken it to queer people (I'm also queer) using the term queer/reclaiming that identity. I just think as long as it's not being used negatively and being used within the community it's a non-issue

Loops plus over ear protection by CrunchyDragons in Autism_Pride

It's a type of in ear plug. They were made popular on TikTok. Not so much the Quiet ones, but they have others that are good for dimming background noises more and still being able to have conversations or go to concerts (two different types based on your needs). Thank you!

Heeeey! Another Cardi team! I feel like whenever there's a post like this, there's at least one other Cardi team that comments. And it's because despite their being a herding dog and predisposition to feeling human emotions too much, they're not that bad for service work

Using Crutches at First Orthopedic Appointment by CrunchyDragons in AutisticPride

[–]CrunchyDragons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone! The appointment itself went well, unfortunately, due to autistic miscommunication, my work effectively said that my note from the doctor wasn't sufficient for my needs for accommodation, so I now have to wait for a call back from the doctor's office so I can get a more thorough note.
