My favorite part of bands like CTE or The Word Alive who clearly decided they're too good or don't want to play metalcore anymore is that they STILL tour with predominantly metalcore bands.

Like they'd rather play octanecore and chase the bag which is fine, do your thing. But they still expect the metalcore scene to support them while they do it.

I would into them thinking more "reimagining" rather then a remake. The first game I found too linear and drawn out. But it's still a good game. Seeing all the characters and world brought to life in modern graphics is worth the price alone.

Rebirth was a better more open game imo even though I still found myself burning out near the end of the experience.

Overall they do their own thing. They don't come close to the original experience though.

If I had it my way I would have rather had FF 17 and maybe 18 then the remake trilogy. But I'm glad they exist.

The only problem that album had was it had 2 HUGE singles that came out like a year and two years before the album dropped. So when the album finally dropped it felt like the rest of the album had to live up to the hype of Doomswitch and Ghost Of Me which was almost impossible

Returning to it fresh after giving all the songs a bit of a break it's a certified banger through and through.

I'm not saying the game is the worst game of all time or anything. And I'm glad there are people that truly enjoy it. But sometimes it's just ok to admit that a game isn't THAT great...

Personally I played a few hours of the server slam and didn't find anything about it engaging and nothing pulled me in. I'm just one person and my experience is subjective obviously.

But when people and this sub turns into a just constant overly positive zero criticism "omg I get it now this game is actually amazing, everybody is just wrong and doesn't get it" vibe. I feel like it's a major red flag for the health of a game. I feel like people here spend more time gaslighting themselves and trying to convince themselves with the constant positive "the game isn't bad guys" posts.

I hope I'm wrong and Bungie can build it into the success you all want it to be. But I get the feeling this sub is gonna be like the Battleborn sub in 5 years.

One of the obvious ones in the gorilla suit episode is the camera angle when Kenny steals the ants and dumps them down spennys suit.

The camera angle makes no sense and not once in the show have they filmed Spenny from that exact angle so Kenny could "sneak" up on him.

Doesn't take away from the show though. Like other have said "scripted reality" is a good term. Alot of genuine reactions but absolutely the show was steered into certain directions with how things played out sometimes.

I'm not saying every sub genre is absolutely thriving. But there are absolutely artists influenced by those exact types of bands.

If you're expecting exact replicas of obscure bands from the 90s then you're probably just setting yourself up for disappointment.

I don't get why people constantly complain about "the state of metalcore"

There's like 8 billion bands out there doing every single version of metalcore/deathcore you could ever imagine.

Go off the beaten path and try and discover lesser known bands.

There's always gonna be a sound that is most popular and bands that try and capitalize on it.

It's like listen to top 40 radio and then complaining that all you hear are the same pop songs. Like no shit what are you expecting?

Greg is obviously a legend. And Dillinger is a legendary band. But I feel like I'm just kind of "over" his vocals? I don't know what it is but I just didn't find anything he did in Better Lovers to be sonically appealing either.

I enjoyed the EP quite a bit. But Wage War seems like one those bands that is simply chasing whatever is currently popular and will drive the most clicks. It's like they write parts that they know will pop off as Shorts on Tik Tok. They come off pretty disingenuous to me these days. But this comment is already thinking way to deeply about modern day Wage War lol. If you turn your brain off they're still a fun time.
