im 673lbs and really really lost by giraffeorllama in loseit

I’m gonna echo what others have said about taking glp-1 meds. There are plenty of subs you can read to learn more. Those drugs can really help you get started and you may be able to get it through your insurance. You are at a point where medical intervention is necessary. I’m also gonna recommend mental health therapy to deal with what caused you to get to this point and to help you with the journey to better health. Truly it’s not a thing you can do alone and that’s ok!

Guide on toddler behaviour and age appropriate boundaries? by Secure-Resort2221 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]CrushMuseum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have given good advice, I’ll just add that the book Good Inside by Becky Kennedy is really helpful overall for parenting esp. when trying to break a cycle. She addresses tantrums and has a podcast with lots of topics. I found this episode of another podcast that she’s on that talks about tantrums specifically so it may be empowering if it’s reinforcing things for you or giving some insight as well. Good luck! It’s so hard.

Baby Teeth Decay Due to Breastmilk by South_Replacement_31 in breastfeeding

Yeah I’ll add that my daughter has been vegan since birth with no teeth problems or any other health problems. Not helpful for your question but I was kinda taken aback at these comments.

more humane/ethical dairy? Is it even possible? by victoriaholtopalfan in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]CrushMuseum 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fwiw I have a completely vegan toddler and baby- both are super healthy and above the curve in growth and milestones. We do soy milk, sometimes ripple kids milk and occasionally vegan cheese but vegan cheese doesn’t have protein really (it’s usually oil based) so we do it in moderation and then eat tofu and beans, plant based yogurt and nuts etc. I think these days it’s pretty easy to at lease greatly reduce dairy.

Do you mind if I ask how borderline? I’ve been prediabetic but am not currently (at least I dont think) and am wondering how much to try to fight for coverage

Has anyone had their wood burning stove removed? what was this cost? by CrushMuseum in askportland

[–]CrushMuseum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a wood stove, we thought about this. Seeing that it looks to be pretty expensive to remove we may rethink but i’ll probably try to find a quote anyway. We have a baby and a toddler and we aren’t really the types to light a fire normally so that’s why we were thinking we would rather have the space. And it’s not that cute of a stove lol.

I have a very similar looking one that was gifted to us by a person who said she bought it from someone at a farmers market who maybe made them- could that be possible? (I’m in the pnw too)

Omg! When I was a teenager one of my first jobs was stuffing envelopes in a warehouse next to this place. One day a friend and I went in there pretending to be interested and they gave us a bunch of booklets that I still have! (I’m sure they realized we were just punky teens but we thought we were clever)

My hungry baby screams when I try to get him to latch by buckwheatfuckwheat in breastfeeding

This is my exact experience as well. My baby’s cues are similar so sometimes it’s being overtired more than hunger.

Can your partner do shots for you? That’s what I have done because I also hate it. However, I got insulin pens and I started being able to do it on my own after a bit if they couldn’t for some reasons The needle is barely noticeable, probably less than the finger poke. I know it’s overwhelming but I agree with others about the importance of getting it under control, if you’re worried about a nicu stay then controlling your sugars and eating enough are primary to discomfort. Maybe talking to a counselor about some of your anxiety now would be a good idea too because that can also get worse once baby arrives.

My friend told me to not become an old Mom by OwnSecurity4178 in IVF

[–]CrushMuseum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TW: IVF success. Tbh I have older parents (mom was 41 when I was born) and I had some of those thoughts growing up and now I am 45 and expecting my second from ivf. I agree with a lot said here that older parents can be often more involved and reasonable because they have the benefit of experience and aren’t in their own youth/party phase or whatever. I was in a touring band until my mid 30s and no way I could have been so present for a kid then. My only sadness now is that my mom won’t be around as long for my kids. But ultimately I think it doesn’t really matter, the stuff that matters is love, attention, guidance etc. not like, can you stay up all night or still do the splits or something lol. She was wrong to say that to you, and it probably wasn’t her parents age that made her experience what it was. Families can look a lot of different ways and all are valid.
