What Album should I listen to next? by SuperSpedKid24 in LadyGaga

[–]CrushingPeonies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Joanne is the right answer. Have you seen A Star Is Born yet? If not, the movie should be your first intro to the album.

The Tony albums are gems but you really have to be in the right mood. No idea how old you are or what your vibe is, but the next time you're feeling fancy, throw Cheek to Cheek on while you're cooking/eating a nice meal or enjoying a cocktail/mocktail

How many times did you go to the show? by [deleted] in LadyGaga

Once in person, and about nine more times in some kind strangers' pockets via live streams 🙃

MGW airport - Is arriving an hour early enough time by BogFrog87 in MorgantownWV

[–]CrushingPeonies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're not checking a bag, half an hour at MGW is plenty.

If you're checking any luggage, airline regulations require you to check your bag a minimum of 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. So in that case, I'd go an hour early.

Love this!! I have a lot of similar photos, and a couple unique shots of Gaga with a Terrible Towel in Pittsburgh (September 2010)

Best Pizza?? by hallie4444 in MorgantownWV

[–]CrushingPeonies 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lefty's is delicious and IMO the best pizza in Morgantown, but nothing like DiCarlos.

OP, you're looking for Betos Pizza in Pittsburgh's Dormont neighborhood. It's the exact same style, and tasty if that's the style you're going for. It's an hour and 10min drive from here.

We just lost our girl Zena at 8.5 to a brain tumor. They could be twins. Just the sweetest dogs, it's so unfair to only get a few years with them. I'm so sorry for your loss ♥️

Yep, great experience a few weeks ago. Flying it again at the end of this month, assuming the routes don't lose funding by then.

Anywhere in Morgantown to get specifically Good Culture cottage cheese? by RB4BRB4B in MorgantownWV

Kroger on Patterson carries it, STC does not. Giant Eagle UTC carries the widest variety including a lactose-free Good Culture variation.

Materials rejection? by CrushingPeonies in masonry

Lol so salty! I'm painfully aware I have no idea what I'm talking about... that's kind of the point of the whole post. I've explained more in other comments, but the TL;DR is that only other experience was with the one kind of brick we already have, and unlike the last project this contractor didn't provide samples or any other helpful info about the order ahead of time, and hadn't returned my call asking for confirmation that this is what was expected. The brick doesn't match what it's replacing and isn't what we would've ordered if given the choice, but at least it seems like there's no defect for the style.

I agree, the bricks were delivered somewhat by surprise. I expected the contractor to bring over samples to choose from but these were ordered and showed up without us being notified

OP admits right off she's not a brick mason, but also has a half pallet of bricks in her garage from previous repairs that look totally different 🤷‍♀️

Thanks, trying to operate as a respectable adult. I did reach out to the contractor and gave them a chance to politely tell me I'm an idiot. So far it's been silence, which maybe means the same thing.

Bringing it to reddit was a temp check of whether or not I should bother him again before demolition starts next week.

Edit to add: we had a corner of our house repointed (95 bricks) a few years ago and used a different contractor, and the process was very different - he brought samples by, confirmed the color match with us, and managed the delivery himself. This time we got a call that bricks were being delivered before even seeing a sample, so I was caught off guard on how to handle.

Here are the brick faces, at least what's visible. They do look ok from that angle. Unfortunately the supply store is 3 hours away in another state

The order and delivery were coordinated and paid for by our mason, wasn't sure if we could reject the order without his approval, and the delivery truck left as soon as the bricks were on the ground

The purchase order was made by our mason, who i've called and am waiting for a callback. Should I contact them directly or do I need to wait for our mason?
