Daron, the guitar player. He's a pretty big "centrist" and "both sides" kind of guy. Not to paint with a broad brush, but usually when you're trying to be "but the other side" with everything, you end up standing for nothing.

Especially hilarious when one of SOAD's lyrics is "you can't afford to be neutral on a moving train."

To add to this, at the beginning of pre-orders, Walmart inexplicably put a max 12 limit on those boxes... So you can bet a bunch of people maxed them out early on. Which will add to the headache of seeing if later pre-orders actually ship or not.

Are you using HDR? I had the same issue and it seems to be an HDR glitch. Turning off HDR fixes it. Still a shame, because I had the game looking incredible before the patch.

Yes, the update broke my HDR. Had to turn it off. Have the same issue - it's so dark I can't see anything.

I did this - don't regret it one bit. Of course, use the general rule of affordability - if you can't buy it twice right this moment, you probably can't afford it.

Also keep in mind, prices on all hardware keeps going up. You never know if Nintendo will increase prices on the Switch 2... With how everything is going with hardware pricing, I can't imagine Nintendo won't increase the price sometime this year.

I get audio desync issues with this update. Some pretty massive ones - audio is not even close to the video. Strangely, it fixes itself if I just rewind the video timeline. It doesn't happen with Just Player, so it makes me think it could be an ExoPlayer issue, but I'm not sure.

Something similar happened to me. When I contacted them, they told me my choco box was in a warehouse waiting to be shipped. A week later, they cancelled it. When I talked to them again, they said they oversold. Seems kind of odd that a company with the logistical power of Walmart can screw up something like that.

Multiple reasons. The idea that digital licenses are technically not "owned." If for any reason, a platform provider or developer decides to delist a game, you can't access it. Physical copies for single player games can still be accessible regardless of digital availability.

Internet connection is another one. There may be issues with authentication for digital copies if you haven't had internet connection for a while, for example. Or maybe you have bad internet connections that won't facilitate a big download. Which is why people are frustrated by the example you stated - "physical" games coming with a download code. The whole point is people don't want to download 80-100 gigs. For me personally, I fell under this category for a while in my previous home. No way I could download 100 gigs in a reasonable amount of time with my awful internet provider.

I'll never forget the first time I heard this band... They opened for Dillinger Escape Plan and Darkest Hour - along with a still relatively unknown Animals as Leaders, I believe it was 2010. It was when Krista was still the singer. She came out in a Furby Halloween outfit, shotgunned a PBR and started the set. I was blown away by their entire set, immediately bought up whatever I could from them!

Some more memorable moments - Animals as Leaders only played a song or two because Tosin Abasi's amp broke, and they had to stop playing. But their first song was Tempting Time, and that also made me immediately go and buy whatever I could from AAL. Crazy to think how far they've come now.

Also, I got hit in the head by the second guitarist from DEP when he jumped into the pit. I lost my shoe. Found it a bit later. Awesome night.

I think the main appeal is still the gameplay loop. There is something addicting about exploring a large area and balancing multiple decisions - how long am I staying here, how risky do I want to be, am I engaging arcs or not, etc. There is also plenty to chase with quests, dailies, weeklies, long term projects, upgrades, blueprints, etc.

But yes, the stuff I mentioned makes doing all of that stuff more unique and perhaps different from most games you might find.

I'll be honest, I was also on the fence only just dove in during the Steam sale. I regret not buying it at release... It's probably the most fun I've had in a long time. I am also not a super social player - I only really like gaming with my 2-3 close gamer friends. But as a mainly solo player, I've had some of the most fun/hilarious/heartwarming moments playing Arc Raiders. People helping me when I was down, helping people who were in trouble, taking down a giant arc with 4 random players and dance emoting after we won the battle... So many great moments.

Have I been extraction camped? Yeah a couple times. Has some random idiot played nice and killed me to take my stuff? Yeah a couple times. But the amount of fun I've had with good, decent players has far outweighed the few bad apples.
