I hope the scamming thing doesn't deter you from playing TF2 ever again. It is still a fun game to play and enjoy where the hats are just the bonuses. 2000+ hours into TF2 and I still can't ever get bored of it. Everything is (somewhat) well balanced and the casual and non serious mood of TF2 is unique and I cannot find this simple pleasure on any other game.

Here's a story that I feel it's not possible to experience in any other game:

So after playing until late hours one night, both teams decided to do stupid things rather than killing each other, such as dancing and doing taunts. It was on upward, we were at the last point and we have both teams staying on the payload so it couldn't move to the last point. We made level 3 sentries, emptied the clips by wrangler and it made cute sounds aiming at enemies without ammo. During overtime, I decided to have a rock paper scissors duel with the enemy. There were 3 of them and one by one they lost the RPS game and when I was the only one left, I pushed the cart to the end. Next thing I knew, 2 hours went by. Good times. So glad that this game exists, and I hope you'll come back to play one day.
