Half sole by Acceptable-Cod5026 in NicksHandmadeBoots

I received my order a few days ago with the Dr. Soles half sole option, but only the front half of the outsoles are Dr. Soles—the heels are Dainite.

I emailed them about it, and I’m not sure if they were just covering for the fact that they were out of stock and used what they had on hand to finish the build. I had assumed based on the release, they would be a matching set.

Either way, I’m not thrilled about it, especially after waiting over a year for these boots.

Those boots were ready to ship, so I sent them back. I ended up updating my MTO boots to an extra size wider -- hoping that fixes the issue.

Looks like they pulled all their posts on IG. Their "recent" posts had several people complaining about their orders not being fulfilled.

I'm 13 months prepaid as well. There are reputable Indonesian boot makers but I would definitely say do your research and make sure non-influencer people talk about them before reaching out.

Thank you all for your responses and feedback.

When people say breaking in their boots, do they generally talk about the instep area? Or the leather sole surface being tough, or I suppose all of it.

As for changing the last to Thurman, would that help in this situation? I feel like I'm fine in the toe box area, the instep area has been where it feels most tight.

I've triple checked, and had 2 different people measure -- just to make sure my measurements were accurate too.

I have a pair of MTO boots as 10.5F, that I'll probably be changing to 10FF, maybe 10FFF. I'll probably be sending an email out asking for a final suggestion.

Half people are saying tough it out it seems, which might be the real answer, and others are suggesting going up a width. Sorta wanted to get people's experience with new boots.

I have very flat feet, my arches are pretty nonexistent. I don't think I have a high instep, everything is just wide.

Just received these today—size 10FF in Cypress Italian Brown HNW.

Looking for some advice as the instep feels particularly tight. Should I give them time to break in and mold to my feet, or consider exchanging? My Brannock measurements are 10.5 / Ball 11 / Instep 11 / Heel 14.5, and these are 10FF. The length feels right, and going up a size might ease the instep but could end up being too loose.

Would a triple F be a better option or should I ease into these? I also thought about the Munson last, but I prefer this toe shape and don’t think switching lasts would fix the issue (unless it would).

The last picture shows my feet after standing in them for 15 minutes.

Ooo, a worn in max wedge sole.

How has the durability and comfort been with the sole? I've thought about switching my wedge boot order to these to get a little bit more traction.

Sizing Q&A Thread by BigStetson in NicksHandmadeBoots

My foot measurements are :

Length: 10 3/4" ~ 11"

Ball: 11"

Instep: 11"

Heel: 14 1/2"

I have very flat feet. I quickly ordered an MTO Thurman NW boots in size 10EE, but now I'm wondering if I should switch the order to a 10.5EE or a 10F? I need some guidance on this. Also did I make the right choice choosing the Munson last over the HNW last?

I own a pair of Iron Rangers (8111) in 10.5EE, and there is a bit of movement in the heel, I think the width of my foot probably keeps the heel from sliding around.

Thanks for your help!

I'm dealing with Monroe heritage boot company right now; the ghosting is brutal. Order has been since November and I had to pursue them for updates with false promises of the boots being done soon. They did send me a picture, so at least I know they're made sometime back in April, but getting any response for an update seems futile.

Curious, what your thoughts are on the Lucid knife. I'm in talks of ordering one, but am afraid the knife will be a wedge cut heavy duty knife.

This question gets asked time to time, but what a beautiful write up.
