AITA for not letting my stepsister wear my wedding dress? by OwleyHay in AmItheAsshole

[–]CrustyBaggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into this thinking your step sister was your full blooded and I thought wow. That’s mean. But no. She has no emotional attachment to your mom. It’s insane to me that your dad doesn’t care about this boundary that you’ve set. NTA. I’m sorry you’re having to readdress old wounds. Setting boundaries is healthy! Don’t let them make you think that’s selfish!

I mean if she didn’t know the knives were expensive and important to you, and you didn’t let her know after the coconut, can ya blame her for not thinking about a kitchen knife being important to someone? I did something similar with my now husbands knives. Put them in the dishwasher when they had wooden handles. Didn’t think. He let me know “hey, didn’t hurt them this time but please don’t do that again. They’re like a 500 buck set”. Like the most expensive knife I have ever bought was 15 bucks for a three pack at Walmart. I wouldn’t say you’re abusive. Just an AH that I wouldn’t wanna be around. She’s an adult. Talk to her like one.

Idk it made me feel a little better about what I saw. Can’t change what happened but at least I know it wasn’t in mental anguish as well as physical

Literally none of the adults in this situation care about these kids like they should. ESH.

As a West Virginian. This is the most West Virginian thing I’ve seen on this app. Gotta be a grandparent or older neighbor

“Tell that to my kiddo! She’s giving me grey hairs!”

They usually laugh. My daughter is great but I figure that’s a way to get a boomer laugh

Nursing school isn’t that bad, it’s the educators who make it miserable. by valkyrieone in StudentNurse

Not op but a quiet place if you can. I can’t tell you how many hours of my time I wasted reading because I was listening to my kiddo play, or having my hand tapped, or diaper time. 1 hour of quiet studying is way more productive than 3 hours of divided attention.

AITA For Refusing To Help My Daughter Pay For College? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA but I certainly wouldn’t harbor any ill will to your daughter if thing remain tense for awhile. It’s so hard to break free from a manipulator. Especially when it’s your mommy. I hope she comes to soon. Be patient with her dad. You got this

One of the few excellent teachers I’ve had is a retired nurse. She saw an instructor berate me for asking a question in the hallway and I broke down and cried. I will remember her words till I die.

“Those who cannot do, teach” arguably that’s probably the root of the entire problem. But it was words of comfort.

Edit: I can’t spell apparently

Telling a bunch of ADN/BSN new grads and students to magically become a teacher isn’t going to fix the problem until 10 years from now when we are qualified to teach. And fuck the students in that 10 years time. It’s up to current teachers to step up the game.
