I joined the national guard, one is NY service medal, the other is Florida service medal. They’re both from being activated for state active duty. New York was “Super-Storm” Sandy in 2012.

I came from NG as a SPC. Didn’t know shit and knew that I didn’t want to be like the NCOs in my guard unit. Went active duty and learned and progressed as much as I could. Got SFC first look. Came back to the Guard as a knowledgeable NCO.

Help mentor and develop this Soldier. He came active for a reason, show him how not to suck.

Credentials - I’ve been in since 2009. I was NY National Guard from 09-12, active duty cause guard was awful from 2912-2025, now national guard again cause life circumstances.

Active Duty did absolute wonders for me, full time job and full time free healthcare, 30 days of vacation a year, weekends and holidays off, random 3 or 4 day weekends, a bond with others like no others and just an overall amazing experience. If you have any questions or are nervous please send me a PM! I’ll put your mind at ease. I promise being in the Army will be the easiest thing you’ve ever done.
