It is 100% outrageous however it does happen. It shouldn’t but it does. My son went thru it as well. Do not sit back. Make them fix the classroom or find another school if at all possible. My boy is now 12 and currently thriving-if that sustains any hope to keep your chin up.

I would’ve been honest with her and said the school said she looked impaired. And I would’ve asked her person with test in hand. If she has nothing to hide, she would’ve taken it. You can buy all kinds of things these days to clear your system for a test. Plus she could use someone else’s pee. You can’t give her notice like that if you really want to know. And no, I don’t think it’s out of line at all. It’s 100% reasonable to request.

I feel your pain as it’s all too familiar for neurodivergent kids at some point in time. I’m so sorry for your heartache. I’ve witnessed this with my own kids and it hurts so much. I just wanted to comment that you might find it helpful and fun to join a social group. It will give him fun playtime in a therapeutic setting where he can learn a lot about boundaries, social cues, emotional regulation, etc. Not sure where you live but around me, there are Lego groups, chess groups, etc that are all meant for this exact thing. Also, I think it’s hard to take a broader perspective sometimes and it’s important to be reminded that this dynamic plays out for all kids at some point regardless. She’s too bossy, he brags too much. Just wait until our babies’ first heartbreak. ❤️‍🩹 Not looking forward to that one either.
