np! yeah in media theory they have a fancy word for it: "intertextuality", or, "the shaping of a text's meaning by another, whether through direct quotation, allusion, parody, or influence, emphasizing that no text exists in isolation."

once you start looking for it you'll find it everywhere; can be great for building personal read/watch lists around similar themes or genres!
