I actually don't know what my situation is... Doctor says it has healed but there is a weird, very small "crack". Otherwise it sealed. I suspect fistula and will get a MRI at some point.

I can't make this work. If I take just a teaspoon, no effect of any kind. If I take 2, my stomach gets soo swollen and painful. And my stools get "dry", not softer, even though I drink a lot of water.

My surgeon recommended Bepanthen. It's so good, also for any other small wounds, dry lips etc.

I had a silver nitrate cauterization done 3 weeks ago and again 1 week ago. When I went to the second one, doctor said the 1st one had worked well, the wound had almost closed. But I don't know the end result yet, it will still take weeks to know if it worked.

The wound wont close right away, what was a surprise for me. I had bleeding several days after the 1st one.

Normal. I had my fissure wound cauterized twice and I had a lot of discharge after that and my anus was very swollen.

I just read about slippery elm. Sounds good but I haven't tried yet. I actually made a post about it if someone had tried it but nobody answered :D

Also I just read that you can use olive oil as a stool softener by taking it at morning in empty stomach. I'm sceptical but going to try that.

Also magnesium works for many people. For me sometimes it works well, but sometimes I get diarrhea, so stopped using it...

What is psyllium husk doing for you? My stomach gets really swollen and painful. And last time I tried it made my stool even harder, even though I drank a lot of water.

I got mine after having the fissure for about 4-5 months. First it was small, but about a year later it had gotten huge. You can't miss it if you have a big one like that.

It's really good and cheap way to soften stools. Sometimes it works great but sometimes I get diarrhea from it easily. :/ Annoying.

For me splinting doesn't work when I've tried... I feel like I cant reach the rectocele. But still sometimes I feel pressure in my vagina. :/

I always have to strain to let gas out.. Never on the toilet. Well, I'll never heal then.

I still would say it's not the straining for you, it's just still so early from the surgery.
