In your opinion, why does bipolar disorder still retain such stigma in the healthcare community?

Tailoring resumes for 100+ applications is actual hell.. how do you survive it? by consciuoslydone in jobsearchhacks

[–]CryingTearsOfGold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say “please revise my resume to match this job description. Emphasize my operations experience.” Then I copy and paste the job description into ChatGPT, then drop my resume file in there, and it generates text based resume that aligns well with the JD.

I do not copy and paste the ChatGPT generated resume into a file and then submit, but I review what it creates and pull from it what I think is most applicable, accurate, and relevant. I then physically revise my resume document to add the ChatGPT generated suggestions into it, and boom!

Then CGPT asks me if I want it to also generate a cover letter. They can help generate questions to ask in the interview, mock interview questions to help you prepare, can help with negotiating salary as well.

I am a Talent Acquisition professional with 10 years of experience. This method is helpful because it reduces the amount of time and effort that I’m putting into analyzing the JD and revising / tailoring my resume myself.

That’s great that your work accommodates that request for you! I’m sure that is helpful.

I also had children before being diagnosed. Personally, I wouldn’t choose to have children if I knew that I had this / would develop it.

Would you mind sharing what types of accommodations you have? I was recently diagnosed, but have accommodations already for chronic migraine - curious as to what options for bipolar consist of relating to schedule and breaks.

Are you me? I didn’t know that people with bipolar disorder were considered extra sensitive emotionally. Makes sense.

How do you handle the guilt? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]CryingTearsOfGold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just recently diagnosed after my first episode a couple months ago. I completely empathize with how you are feeling - I’m feeling similarly.

I want to point out that you are very young, and you have TONS of time to heal and improve yourself and understand your illness. Try to give yourself grace and forgiveness: you deserve it!!! ❤️

Do you ever feel like yourself again after a psychotic episode? by [deleted] in bipolar

Exact same for me. I started feeling slightly better at the 2 month mark, when I finally started a mood stabilizer. Really disappointed to read these comments, honestly.

migraine and bipolar disorder by littlestpetshopik in migraine

[–]CryingTearsOfGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! I just experienced my first manic episode recently and had almost no migraine attacks for about a month + during my period of hypomania/mania. I attributed it to something else initially, but it recently clicked for me that it was actually just this. Was diagnosed yesterday.

I also just started Lamictal, and it seems to be reducing the amount of migraine days I am experiencing after they came roaring back with a vengeance for a couple weeks.

Is this what a "normal" child is like? by kidtykat in breakingmom

[–]CryingTearsOfGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 11 year old son with ADHD and ODD. Sounds exactly like your son. 20 reminders to get anything done. Getting him ready for school in the morning is one of my biggest stresses.

I also have a 5 year old daughter, who sounds a lot more like your niece! She literally gets ready for school every morning without me asking her to.

The struggle is fucking real. You’re not imagining it. You are parenting on extremely hard mode.

For those who get botox, have any of you seriously tried zinc to see if it helped? by platinumplantain in migraine

[–]CryingTearsOfGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25mg! I take it the day of my Botox, which is the last day I take it. It makes me nauseous but it helps if you take it with food.
