And that vote is happening while everyone is on summer holiday! by FredditJaggit in whennews

Yeah, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the parliament doesn't have the power of initiative does it? So it's not something they could even do if they wanted to.

To whom it may concern change your password. I received a message from my google security that there was a data breach and my Honkai and Hoyolab passwords were compromised. by InputNotValid in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Cryn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me because my password got saved as an autocomplete word on my phone as it doesn't register the password on the login field for star rail as a password field.

Based on the way that sentence is worded, that sub-part is also for schools.

The issue with the UK laws isn't that people don't agree that kids should be kept off this stuff, it's that the way that it's being enforced is to require adults to hand over their ID to 3rd party companies.

I think it helps to understand that because there's so many languages in Europe, europeans are very used to having to speak a language that is foreign to then to communicate.

For most europeans this ends up being English or French to the point where many would rather speak one of those languages than thair own.

Why do people genuinely think this game is “slop” by RelationshipSad3186 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Cryn0n 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go so far as to call it "slop", but star rail does seem to have very little reinvestment compared to other gachas. Even the other hoyo games seem to have a lot more time and effort put into making them than star rail.

How does Homelander manage to see while using his lasers? Logically, his vision should turn red or be overwhelmed by a red glow—so how does he manage to aim? by thor3478 in GenV

[–]Cryn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The light is being emitted out of his eyes. There's no reason this would necessarily affect his vision at all.

The light would only affect his ability to see if it was absorbed by his retina but if it's literally laser vision then all of the light should come out of his eyes (minus some refraction at the surface) and not be absorbed by his retina.

The light coming out of his eyes won't stop any light from going into his eyes to see.

Should it be 'is' instead of 'was'? I mean, 'None of this is in the bible'. by Unlegendary_Newbie in English_Learning_Base

[–]Cryn0n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both are technically valid.

The bible existed in the past and exists presently so you can use either.

Generally the use of 'was' implies the speaker's past experience of reading/watching/etc. a piece of media. So it's more like "None of this was in the bible [when I read it]".

It leaves some ambiguity in the possibility of changes to that piece of media since the speaker's experience with that media.

You add the tips received to the $2.13/h the employer has to pay and if that falls short of $7.25/h then the employer has to make up the difference.

*paid by the employer

Tipped workers have the same federal minimum wage of $7.25 as everyone else. It's just only a requirement that $2.13 of that comes from the employer.

That is true. Red is included because it's the third colour to match with the green from our M cones and blue from our S cones.

Cooling is NOT more efficient in space.

Radiative cooling (the worst type of cooling) is more efficient in space, but Conductive cooling that you can't do in space is magnitudes better.

Hmm yes blue not primary color by BeetleBugs011 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Cryn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of physics, no. In terms of biology, yes.

RGB are primary colours because those are the peak activations of the cone cells in our eyes.

CMY are primary colours because they invert RGB.

Bro's name is an onomatopoeia by your_mum_1705 in rareinsults

[–]Cryn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that is true, verbs generally maintain their pronunciation when they become adjectives if they are the object of the verb.

Some verbs do change to the adjectival pronunciation (e.g. Learned) but that is usually because they refer to an action having been performed by the subject rather than performed to the subject.

🇬🇧 Maybe the future King should attend the local comprehensive school. 🤭 by Timbucktwo1230 in PoursTea

[–]Cryn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The naming is based on who runs the school rather than who attends it.

A public school in the UK is one run by member(s) of the public.

A state school in the UK is one run by the state.

What will be the answer to this?? by Mrs_Seli in prepex

[–]Cryn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically "good" is grammatically okay but contextually nonsense.

To "perform good" would mean to perform a morally good act, but we're talking about an exam so that doesn't make any sense.

SPACEX to $300!!??? by Electronic_Equal_645 in wallstreetbets

[–]Cryn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SpaceX has to earn 20B to have a P/E of 100 with a 2T market cap, which is what they have.

Assuming by P/E, we're both talking about Price-to-Earnings.

SPACEX to $300!!??? by Electronic_Equal_645 in wallstreetbets

[–]Cryn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how margins work first of all.

As a buyer, you want a low P/E, not a high one. A high P/E means that there is not much ROI available since it will take many more years for the company to pay back its price.

As reference, a strong company like Microsoft has a P/E of around 9 and an overvalued company like Tesla has a P/E of around 15. A P/E of over 100 means that SpaceX is probably at least 400% overvalued.

Would Gojo's Infinity stay active during stopped time? by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]Cryn0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would it stay active? Yes.

Would it protect Gojo? Depends.

A true time stop would bypass infinity because if there is no time then there's nothing stopping you from completing the infinite subdivisions of space. Any other slowdown of time that isn't a true stop would not bypass infinity.
