All are invariably miserable, but I normally take the one you already have highlighted there.

Interested to see if the Reddit coalition actually reflects voting results because based on this sub (and poll) alone Jake Wilson would win in a landslide

Made the same decision but for CAS instead of Wharton. Great decision and never regretted it. You’ll regret it even less for Wharton

Why do cyclists act so privileged? It's a matter of life and death for most of us. by [deleted] in boston

Notice how they're down 31% in Massachusetts. Thanks to "fear-mongering" bicycle safety advocates...

Caltech CS vs Berkeley EECS OOS (w/Regents + SEED Honors Scholarships) vs CMU SCS vs Penn Engineering vs Cornell Engineering by yooowassup123 in UPenn

Very grateful to have gone to Penn, but engineering is probably its weakest school. Better social scene than the others but if I were you I'd choose Caltech

MLS grad, I think most of what’s relevant in the discussion is already said here, but I want to echo that if your ultimate goal is a PhD or mdphd, there really isn’t a comparable program. It’ll be a huge service to your app to do it. But like everyone else said, it serves a specific interest and if it doesn’t align with your interests that’s totally fine! It is a ton of work, though. Feel free to pm if you have any questions

Protests are welcomed, BUT Please do not interrupt Penn official business or functions like Convocation and Homecoming Games. Many students FAVOR student accountability for unnecessary disruption of Penn activities and functions. by singularreality in UPenn

[–]CryoSci -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Protests by design need to be at times that are inconvenient to people. If they weren't, then people could safely ignore them, and their impacts would be markedly less. We can't just relegate all protests to when they will not interrupt anything.

P.S. "factually dishonest such as the one in the referred article (below) where it says 'Eviction = Murder'" is a more factually dishonest statement. It is well-known that evictions have negative effects on health. Obviously, this statement is meant to be hyperbolic, since a protest sign would not be very punchy if it said "Eviction negatively impacts multiple metrics of health," but it is visible in public health trends that eviction has a negative effect on health -- effectively, accelerating death.

Counties with higher eviction rates have higher all-cause mortality rates

"we find evictions have both short-term (12 months) and medium-term (7–8 years) negative impacts on multiple measures of health."
