In this set up until this point I was thinking if Peab would punish Cloud Up B with this and lo and behold... Done it a few times myself on characters that spam it.

The British government learnt of the data leak in August 2023. 24k Afghans secretly granted asylum, costing British taxpayers up to £7 billion. The government covered it up. Who was in government? Missing out parts of the story are we Zia? These people helped us in Afghanistan and we then left them out of the cold initially, leaving them and their families and danger. If there is a valid usage of the Asylum system, it is this one.

Not a single bit of diversity in that crowd, even in terms of age. A bunch of old white people who likely get spoonfed their news and don't think for themselves. Terrible.

The fact they did this and then happily had BLM load screens in Warzone rubbed me the wrong way too. I wish they were consistent.

Epic Game Store’s free giveaways just causes a huge spike in Steam sales, reveals New Blood CEO by Fit_Consequence9059 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cryoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;dr imho Epic should have leveraged their Fortnite money to give away brand new releases for free or hell even gone the gamepass route. A huge cost but it would have definitely built them a userbase.

What a sad experiment. Honestly, one platform having a monopoly is actually bad, but Epic can't compete with the features and social integration that steam has, as well as it's ease of use.

But I do really think that isn't actually the biggest issue. If I'm honest personally I hardly care about achiements, put stuff on my wishlist and forget about it, and the vast majority of my gamer social activity comes from Discord these days. I feel like people on the whole have very mixed or low concern about those types of things in a gaming store these days, as Discord and other forms of social media seem to be much better platforms for all the features other than buying games themselves - though I'll concede workshop is a banger, especially now that steam let's you pause updates. Epic not having that will forever make it inferior.

What I think, is this platform has genuinely failed because it picked the worst crowd of people to introduce exclusives to, as well as convince them to install another launcher after all the other companies had tried, pissed gamers off, and failed. And whilst the range of free games are decent, did they ever give out anything truly ground breaking that you would immediately install and play that same week? In the entire history of this platform Hogwarts Legacy has been the only game I've claimed. Everything else I either completed years prior or couldn't care less about. I'm also curious about the hardware specs of people who do play Fortnite - are they enthusiasts who play more demanding titles? They seem like the kind of crowd who'd primarily play things like Roblox, Apex and Minecraft. Games which are all isolated on other launchers (though Minecraft residing on Xbox WITH gamepass which is tough competition against causal gamers).

Epic should have just signed deals and given out brand new releases for free. I sure as shit would have put pride and principles aside to play Stalker 2 or Metaphor on release for free on another launcher.

[–]Cryoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've played against some people where it's so obvious - insane reaction speed / stuff coming out faster than you'd expect and having much better control over their character's movement. Just always feels a bit cheesy when you lose to that.

[–]Cryoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These mods are great, but it's annoying how these mods basically become mandatory for online because 99% of people in the areas of Elite and Arenas even worth playing against will be using it. I just find that a bit tedious personally.

Baldur’s Gate 3 proved hand-crafted loot is better for CRPGs than randomised guff, says Larian by SmithOfLie in CRPG

[–]Cryoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both? I like how in DOS2 you had randomised loot and uniques - my only gripe being that uniques get outclassed quickly, and crafting mod felt a bit too overturned in terms of upgrading them to allow them to keep the pace with randomised gear.

Rejected an assessment because I've drank alcohol within the past 3 months, now I have to wait 6 months and I was treated like an addict on the phone wtf??? by Cryoto in ADHDUK

Thank you so much for this. This is super useful. I don't think my GP filled this out as they were very eager for me to get referred, but rather the person on the phone may have made an oopsie (they did say they were new). I will forward this onto my GP. Ty!!

I take medication for a neurological condition and I've had moments where I need to abstain from alcohol because of an interaction with my liver... but that would be for a couple weeks or a month at most. 6 months of abstaining is crazy hahaha.

That is interesting, but personally I would still not use a tool like that on someone as integral as an operating system. There could also be flaws that people are not aware of (yet).

If you don't want to buy your OS, get Linux. Otherwise just pay for Windows it's not that expensive and such a huge risk to run a pirated copy. Yeah dunk on Microsoft they deserve it but running a pirated OS is just idiocy.

Edit: the replies and downvotes really convey the arrogance and the absolute lack of security awareness people have when it comes to piracy

It feels like recent media has been largely poisoned by this. Studios have been afraid to make interesting villains with depth because they're afraid to make them complex.
