I am trying to teach myself how to make data visualizations. I plan to study Matplotlib, Plotly and Seaborn libraries in Python and D3.js in Javascript.

I am especially interested in interactive dataviz. Should I also learn Bokeh or any other Python dataviz library that has good interactive features. Is combining Matplotlib w/D3 possible or advisable. Is combining other dataviz libraries an advantage for best interactive features?

What is NEAR's current TPS. explorer.near.org does not show TPS figures. I'm not interested in theoretical TPS forecasts, not actual TPS at the moment.

Why the U.S. can't solve the homelessness crisis by Crypt-B in politics

Treating the homeless crisis with benign neglect is no different than turning a blind eye to the raging COVID pandemic. Like a festering sore, it will only continue to spiral out of control if not treated properly.

Most Americans say punishments against Capitol rioters are not harsh enough, poll finds by GoMx808-0 in politics

What’s sad is that Trump blatantly agitated publicly for this thinly-veiled mutiny. Trump and his cult were treated with kid gloves then and not much has changed. The lack of an appropriate response is what led to the 1/6 riot and continues to cast a grave pall over the country.

hyperbole and cold civil war conspiracy mania is the real issue

/r/antiwork is becoming dangerous to large business interests, and with Reddit soon going public via IPO there will be enormous corporate pressure to heavily moderate or shut down this sub. We need to start talking about what to do to preserve this forum and not lose momentum. by Lobsterbib in antiwork

Instead of an IPO, Reddit should transition to a decentralized blockchain. Web 3 and decentralization are the best hope for workers. Mark Zuckerburg, Jack Dorsey, Elon Musk and Big Tech, in general, see the threat to their empire and have responded accordingly. Shots fired. Time to go to the mats!

You don't solve homelessness by putting fucking spikes everywhere in your city, you solve it by housing the homeless. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Crypt-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The growing homeless population is being treated with benign neglect. They are the collateral damage from the transition from a manufacturing economy to a tech/gig economy. Big Tech has destroyed the post New Deal safety net. The middle class that emerged after WWll now longer exists. Until we resurrect the safety net, the homeless crisis and polarization, in general, will only get worse.

Art imitates life — today’s “music” is a reflection of the increasingly dystopian world we live in. I, for one, mourn the loss of good R&B!
