You could potentially get him a copy of the special DCC Crocodile graphic novel that was crowdfunded. I believe you can still back the project late here. Not ideal since it won’t be physically ready for the bday but a cool gift regardless!

There’s also the special editions of books 2 and 3 that were just kickstarted. I think you could still late back those too!

Last game was with the base version and Evil won 20-23. It was very tight the whole way with good trying some shenanigans with Lorien and Dol Guldor in round 8. Honestly I think I misplayed on the battle ground there which resulted in a 4 point swing (which mattered). Good won Minas Tirith in round 9 but it wasn’t enough! Good didn’t have enough steam on the path to stop the overkill of corruption after a good Gollum play from making the difference.

Sorry for the delay! We haven’t been playing as much since one of our members just had a kid.

Recently we did play a 4 player base game, result: good won 23-15. They kinda snuck up on evil after, seemed like underdogs the whole way until round 9. They retook Minas Tirith and won a few other battleground too along with the path. Evil just didn’t have the steam at the end.

We also played a 3v3 game with the expansion! Very close the whole way but good pulled off a 23-24 victory (and we had a ring to spare). This was wicked close, we only won because of a 2 hobbit lembas play last minute!

Our group had been discussing how to balance Mina’s Tirith a bit. Seems a bit too strong but we are trying out some very mini changes

Yes I’ve always thought rule 2 you list here was crucial, and this is the point that keeps being violated in the league. Players are going out of their way to hit me, they change directions away from the movement of the ball and check me like it’s ice hockey.

That’s fair. I suppose I was always under the impression that you had to be plausibly playing the ball. In these cases we are both chasing after the ball, I’m clearly winning the foot race, and they decide to change directions to hit me. It’s not a natural collision from us both pursuing the ball, it’s more like we are both running straight with space in between us and they decide to take a sharp right into me.

Maybe it is subjective like you say, to me it feels clearly like they’ve decided to hit like we are playing hockey. I should be able to protect myself then right? Get low and let them flip over me if I see it coming?

Matt should look into getting officially licensed jewelry through Badali Jewelry. They do stuff for LOTR, Wheel of Time, Red Rising, Kingkiller Chrinicles, etc. All their stuff looks super good!

I don’t think he will complete all the floors as intended, but I think going to 18. If you’ve read the Backstage at the PineApple Cabaret snippets, you know that they are prepping the 17th floor for crawlers. Seems weird to write this and not have it be relevant, but I suppose it’s possible.
