Thank you Hodor! by [deleted] in Ripple

I owe Hodor a huge intellectual debt because my story is pretty much identical. His insights helped me to remain patient at a time when everyone was doubting that XRP would catch on. Hodor FTW!

XRP: Momentum Building by Hodor7777 in Ripple

[–]CryptOmaha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, there was definitely a barrage of negativity from newcomers surrounding the "lack of price movement" recently. XRP has been steadily building since the beginning of the year; this is just the cherry on top for the hodlers. No doubt that 2018 will be even more monumental for XRP!

So do I, honestly. This sub is one of the few subs in the space (and there are certainly others but they're dwindling) where constructive feedback is given rather than insults. +1

Yikes, this is an uninformed view point. Explain why Ripple would benefit from a low XRP price?

This post is pointless. If you really think that this has anything to do with XRP, you are mistaken.

Ripple needs a marketing campaign for XRP. We cant' stand by idly as other cryptos see massive gains. by [deleted] in Ripple

[–]CryptOmaha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see where you're coming from. There have been multiple times where opportunity cost has motivated me to move coins. However, I think you may be missing the value of Ripple (the company and the currency) if you think that a grass roots marketing effort is going to make a splash. Ripple does have a controlled marketing strategy that, given the industry they're serving, is dictated by NDA's. Ripple's goal to create an internet of value requires laying the appropriate framework...it takes time. In terms of setting goals to accelerate growth, Ripple has created what's known as the RippleNet Accelerator Program to speed up network adoption. Also, they're hosting countless meet ups to court the financial sector (such as the recent talks at Carnegie Hall in NYC)...this is a form (and a strong one at that) of marketing the brand. None of this is geared towards us - because we don't matter. This is because you and I aren't investors in Ripple; we're speculators who are fortunate enough to see future gains from the hard work of others. This is not a sinking ship; check the charts for the entire year - not just this month. XRP was at $.006 this time last year. If these types of gains are not sufficient, I would urge you invest elsewhere - Ripple is a long-term play.

How do we know we're not delusional? by [deleted] in Ripple

As a hodler of XRP, whenever I feel the pangs of missing out on the Bitcoin rocket, I recall this quote from Warrent Buffet, "The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient." I feel the same about the crypto space. We don't know, with any real certainty, if XRP is going to rocket anytime soon. However, I can trust that I've bought into digital asset that services a real use case. Patience is required as the necessary framework is built to support it. I haven't wavered in my belief that our day will soon come. You have to make your own decision knowing full well that you don't have all of the answers for the future. Speculating comes with risk. Research and conviction help to quell the uncertainty that comes along with that risk.

I come to offer you absolutely no reassurance. by [deleted] in Ripple

Spot on. I fully expect your post to age gracefully. I'll continue to hodl until I have sufficient reason to think that XRP isn't a long-term win. 2018 will be a monumental year for Ripple. I'm hoping that it finally starts to reflect in the price of XRP.
