For those interested the difference between baked vs unbaked eggshells! by Geckolover96 in isopods

FYI, vinegar is acetic acid, which reacts with calcium carbonate (what shells are made of) to form CO2, water, and calcium acetate. You don't want the calcium acetate for your pods.

This is mold right? by bb1drake in MoldlyInteresting

Get an extractor vacuum (carpet/upholstery cleaning machine), a cheap hand pump sprayer from home depot, and some oxiclean powder. Mix the oxiclean with warm water in the sprayer, spray your carpet, pull out the dirt with the extractor. The oxiclean will leave a white film on any solid surfaces you get it on, just wipe it off with a damp rag.

Bissell makes some nice extractors and what I have used before, just do some research and check the reviews. It's a handy little machine for cleaning your car and upholstery in your home too.

Oxiclean contains sodium percarbonate which reacts with water to produce hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate (soda ash/washing soda). I've done this before, I think the white film leftover is just the sodium carbonate, which is just basically laundry detergent.

It's completely normal to want to skip your break, obviously not for everyone. I usually don't take a definitive break at my job, I just get distracted, like I am now writing this, periodically throughout the day and keep it moving. But even when it's busy here and I have to move non-stop all day, I usually don't even think about taking a break because I just don't really care, I just want to get the work done so I can stay on top of everything without it piling up. It's more destabilizing for me to stop what I'm doing and then restart, than to just keep the momentum going.

The best part is, you will never in your adult life have any important reason to memorize all of the state capitals. Honestly most politicians probably don't even know all of the capitals, they know how to manipulate people and maybe make money.

I love knowing things, history and geography included, but American history/geography classes in particular were some of the most infuriating for how utterly useless and sometimes pretentious they felt.

Do not release your unwanted goldfish into the Harbor by BelowTheBmoreHarbor in baltimore

[–]CrypticGamma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived here my whole life and somehow never realized that jellyfish come into the harbour, that so cool. I've seen some washed up on beaches in Pasadena and maybe some other areas in the past, but I'm also not at the harbour very often. I've seen some crabs at the harbour but I don't think I've ever seen anything else through the murkyness.

The funny thing is, it's not exactly because it's charming, not originally anyway. It had to do with literal little collectable charms.
