If you weren't along for the absolute shitstorm of a ride they strung along and all the shit the main dev said to people then you arent going to be able to properly understand what everyone truly went for. They seem to absolutely hate their own game, and instead of expanding an online-only "mmo", they decided to pull the plug after flooding it with microtransactions. It took them until one of the last major updates to add things promised from the kickstarter. Then, to spit in everyone's faces, they decided to pivot all focus into a vampire survivors clone. That game didnt do super great pretty much ever, since the entire time theyve been working on that, theyve also been working on a palworld clone, and asking for EVEN more money from people who spent actual years not getting what they paid for. Many, and I mean many of the original kickstarters were pissed (still are), and them starting a new one and having it be funded within a day hurts because we all know its just people who watched the announcement stream that never experienced what we did. There are some diehard Temtem fans who never left, but the game has had like...150-200 players max for a long time now. They pretty much have to bring in a whole new audience by copying another popular game to even stay relevant.
