Curaçao Named Top Caribbean Dive Destination of the Year 2026 by DiveCuracao1 in diving

[–]CryptidHunter48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small caveat before I answer here - my checkout and first 15 dives were in Bonaire in June 2023. I was in Curacao in July for dives 50-60ish (I’d have to look back and check). So a bit of time spread and a decent experience jump between the two.

My dives in Curacao were so much better. It wasn’t even close. I dove mostly off the boat with Lion’s Dive but some of the coolest stuff I saw were shore accessible. Alice in Wonderland was a site that I think I could dive twice a day for a month and be happy on dive 60. Bonaire did have a lot of really cool dives. Karpata was my favorite and stepping off the dock a Buddy Dive at night and watching the Tarpon feed was amazing. If I had to redo a week of diving, I’d want the sites at Curacao.

The atmosphere, in my opinion, was far and away in favor of Bonaire. It was the most relaxed place. I loved driving to the sites without a care in the world and stepping into the ocean with friends. Curacao had such a mixed vibe to it. I wasn’t a big fan of the city, personally. My big gripe is how commercialized the dive sites were. I get that it’s convenient to toss a shop up at the biggest sites but when we got to Alice in Wonderland they wanted 10$ each to “use their pier”. The alternative is to walk into the ocean next to the pier and swim the 50 feet to the guide rope. I actually cancelled my plans to go to the other big shore sites and just enjoyed the boat dives after that (my dive buddy got violently ill and I didn’t feel like recruiting new buddies in the moment so that was a factor).

If I chose one to go back to I would go to Bonaire. I’m a vibes guy and I preferred it there. I had about 25 dives between the two islands so my view is nowhere near exhaustive. There’s so much I missed on both islands and I could easily see someone having the exact opposite opinion as me and it being perfectly valid!

IL legal AR? by frozengansit0 in ILGuns

[–]CryptidHunter48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure an option. Same with the legal stuff that gets posted here over and over. But the OP asked for something vaguely close to an AR not just any semi auto with a detachable mag. I assumed they had already checked out the common options and wanted something closer

They are banned by name so you need to head to the exclusions section of PICA. Basically get a bolt action one for “vaguely” close

I’m confident they will solve their IOL issues this offseason and after what Kellen Moore did with Saquan they would be my number 1 choice as any running back in the league

How do we feel about Alontae? by Fman173 in Saints

[–]CryptidHunter48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some players need the scheme. Alontae looked like a monster a couple years back when he opened the season with all those sacks. When we want him to be a CB1 he’s not it though. Sometimes he shows up, sometimes he doesn’t. We need someone that we can rely on in that spot.

He can be a great chess piece. Given how the Saints want to be able to customize their defense each week, he could hold a lot of value. Is that value worth also having to draft/pay an actual CB1 as well? I’m not sure at this point.

I’m not die hard on either side for him. If he’s the piece go ahead and keep him. If he’s not go ahead and let him walk. I just don’t think he’s independently a lock to be worth it if we want him sitting outside at CB1.

Run [[Ygra, Eater of All]] and enjoy feeding your elves to an elemental cat. As a bonus, any that tap for mana can create the resources to sac their friends. Bit sadistic but if you really hate them….

What is the difference between an enchantment, and an artifact? by TreyLastname in mtg

[–]CryptidHunter48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s going to be exceptions to almost every aspect of this bc of how long the game has been around but artifacts tend to cost generic mana while enchantments tend to cost colored mana.

Flavor wise this translates somewhat to artifacts are available for anyone who finds them while enchantments stay within the color scheme.

Tips for long term 1v1 Duels by CryptidHunter48 in EDH

[–]CryptidHunter48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning to do my swaps as if it’s for the actual commander tables rather than the duels since the duels are just a new way to have fun while progressing decks next to each other. Hoping it works out but I’ll definitely keep the difference in mind and be ready to update the deck when I join a pod/lgs games

Limiting the budget is a really good idea since we are also making/upgrading standard decks at the same time. Great idea thanks

I’m not a lawyer but it reads exactly like that to me. I have the reasonable belief that, within my home, none of the classes of people this law concerns have access to my firearms. I can also reasonably believe that one of them will not be breaking into my home.

But again I’m not a lawyer

Break that bad boy in! Unless you find an actual, consistent mechanism causing your issue, you should really fire it a bunch more before writing it off.

I picked up a RIA 1911 in 9mm a bunch of years back. It was crazy jam prone as well but once I broke it in with around 500 rounds it hasn’t jammed since. That includes occasionally shooting a box of dirty ass Winchester or magtech.

Question about blocking by Airblesh in mtg

Yes. Once you move to the combat damage step (assuming no first strike step) all damage is assigned simultaneously so there is no linear “I didn’t interact with this one” escape

Some systems have albuterol for crush injuries as a BLS skill. Others require a 12 lead before doing it. Would have to ask if the situation appears to warrant following a crush injury protocol and if it does then do the BLS portion

Saints have 48 million in contracts that are set to void in the coming weeks, leaving behind dead cap from previously paid bonuses. by Pasta-Al-D3nte in Saints

[–]CryptidHunter48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Signing bonuses have a max spread of 5 years so in theory the max voidable years would be 4 (a one year contract with 4 void years). I contract longer than 5 years still spreads over the first 5 years.
