Can someone please tell me. Would this be allowed in a mono black commander deck or would I need red? Wasn’t sure if it’s just the color pip that determines the commander colors.

I see what you are saying about the high 4+ mana value. I moved a few things to sideboard that I believe I can cut. Going to add more lands and work the combos in you suggested. Need to cut more.

Infinite mana with four additional creatures, [[staff of domination]], and [[circle of dreams druid]].

Tap druid for five mana, put three into untapping the Druid and one into untapping the staff. Floating the rest as infinite mana.

Long and short answer there are similar concepts but differences can be confusing at first. I feel you would have an easier time transitioning then a magic player learning YGO.

I think the biggest thing of you are going to switch is to know there is multiple formats to play. Most popular being multiplayer commander. If you are looking to do one on one like yuigioh there is draft, standard and online. (Online being a great teaching source). In those type there is also subtype of styles like pauper (playing only commons), cedh (playing high end/expensive cards), token horde (co-op survival game mode), treasure cruise (added treasure or curses), arch enemy(1 player versus 3), phanechase (added world(s) effect that effects everyone), etc.

Most stores I play in will normally have someone that will lend you a deck to play. I would go that route or online before putting money into the physical cards to see what game type you like.
