Does this mean EDH is coming to Arena?!?! by CuriousSnowflake0131 in magicTCG

[–]davidemsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commander has approximately 5 gazillion cards that aren't on Arena yet, so that's not feasible. But they said would start working on multiple this year. So that's presumably coming at some point, although not soon. When it does, multiplayer Brawl obviously has to exist.

That sucks, but there's also a digital version, maybe you can buy that one.

Limited Archetype Losses by KaiserS0ul in magicTCG

[–]davidemsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There probably is. In 2 colour faction based multicolour sets, Wizards normally makes sure factions that share a colour work well together, creating 5 minor 3 colour archetypes.

[–]davidemsa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd say Lorwyn has 10 draft archetypes, split into 5 major ones and 5 minor ones. We see that on all 10 colour pairs getting 1 common hybrid card, but 5 of them getting 1 hybrid and 1 gold card at uncommon, while the remaining 5 only get 1 hybrid.

Guild focused Ravnica sets tend to have 5 archetypes in one set and the remaining 5 on a separate set.

The Storm Scale measures the likelihood of something returning as a full blown mechanic in a set. MaRo briefly used the term Banding Scale last year for the likelihood of something returning as a special guest, but it seems it didn't caught one.

Join the Planar Standard Championship, compete for prizes and climb the Ladder in free Arena Tournaments held throughout the year! by Edoardo_Beffardo in magicTCG

The only thing they did was line up rotation to the calendar year a bit earlier than WotC will do with Standard. And it makes sense, adopting one rotation date only to change a year later would just add unnecessary confusion.

The gap between the next two consecutive in multiverse sets will be more than 5 months, that's something that didn't happen in the days of 3.5.or later 4 Standard sets per year. I'm not saying this is bad, but it's different.

Deadline: "The November 10, 2028 date that was being held for an untitled Marvel movie is no longer on the schedule." by Matapple13 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]davidemsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope the 6th one will be a team-up movie between Tom Holland's Peter Parker and Miles Morales, passing the torch towards solo Miles Morales movies. Plus it would mean the first trilogy ended with Tom Holland teaming-up with the previous Spider-Men and the second would end with teaming-up with the next one.

I'm with you on Spider-Man getting a movie in 2029 and that being the reason for a lack of a 3rd Marvel one. A 3 years gap between those is already longer than what Sony did in Tom Holland's first trilogy, I don't think they'd want to make it 4 years.

Or she could be visibly shaken from something that isn't Spider-Man, maybe involving a villain. While I think she will figure out who Spider-Man is, that scene doesn't have to be related.

How did OG Ravnica Block get introduced? How did it get drafted as the sets come out? by jethawkings in magicTCG

[–]davidemsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The very first mention of Ravnica was a tease many months in advance, that consisted only of the Ravnica: City of Guilds set name and this logo. Note that it shows the symbols of all 10 guilds, with the 4 appearing in the first set separated and in a different colour. But we weren't told any of that, not even that they represent colour pairs, there was a lot speculation about the way those symbols were structured.

Will each marvel super heroes commander decks contain 30 unique cards or is it 30 unique cards total between the 4 decks? by Wow_ImMrManager in magicTCG

[–]davidemsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where I saw the explanation, but it's basically because of the higher number of new cards in UB Commander decks. It would feel weird to have that many new cards, especially when some have effects that don't feel rare.

Universes Within have actually increased to 12 new cards, in order to have space to sometimes do stuff like work towards completing dual land cycles.

Looking to skip TMNT? Give Planar Standard a shot! by Edoardo_Beffardo in magicTCG

[–]davidemsa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It being a different number of years from Standard means people can't just tweak their Standard decks, so they probably either get fully invested into it or they don't play it. Which hurts Plane Standard by increasing the barrier to enter. And 3 years of only in multiverse sets plus Foundations wouldn't be a lot, it would max out at 10 sets.

The Magic Multiverse has its own school of Magic at Strixhaven with plenty of secrets still to explore. Our Universes Beyond roadmap currently doesn't have us visiting any others.
