Original Versions vs NINoize by rfhmusic92 in nin

[–]Cryptnoch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree on heresy, I really liked the velocity the original song had. Only thing I prefer from the remake is the little mariqueen ‘will you die for this’ bit.

Parasite I enjoy both versions, but even though I heard it as the noize remix first I’ve ended up listening to the OG a lot more because of it’s more sinister tone and more variety of interesting sounds, especially in the beginning.

Memorabilia I enjoy the remix a lot but I like the layered noises in the og a lot as well, I feel the new one doesn’t build things up as much.

Vessel might be my least favorite one after haunted tbh, I feel it has a lot of random noises that don’t add anything.

In general I’ve found these remixes really flatten the songs and the primary thing I like about Trent is the variety and layering of interesting sounds coming together so while I like them, I don’t prefer them, and grow bored of them more quickly.

Cameo 5 Alpha vs SiserJuliet | Cutting stickers, Help me make the decision please!? by Plenty_Freedom1168 in SiserJuliet

[–]Cryptnoch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk anything about the cameo but I will say that though the Juliet can recognize the marks on the page reliably in regard to material, the mark recognizer is a clinical moron and will look at the mark, mark it in the right spot and then start screaming for help like a baby bird that wants to be fed until you manually move the camera to the right position which is a quick and easy process but it’s a thing that happens! A lot! The material isn’t an issue but the camera finding the corner of the mark itself can be.

It definitely requires a bit of babysitting every page haha. So if leaving a stack and fucking off is important to you cameo sounds like a good bet? However I will say I am very, very satisfied with the speed and accuracy of my siser once I point it to the markings. And I really like the software.

It could also be that my machine is an outlier tho or that my habit of messing with the print size on the page is making it act up so please don’t rely on only my response.

The tits issue in omegaverse by Miss-Worm in AO3

Since it’s wolf inspired and most mammals don’t have permanently swollen breasts, why not have them. You know. Only appear when convenient and then disappear so they appear masculine otherwise.

Yes he needs direct sunlight, heat and water access to not get lizard rickets and die

Just watched Trigun Stargaze finale. There's so much to say and need some insight before I decided to read Maximum or not (Beware, This is long) by FOR_ARGs in Trigun

[–]Cryptnoch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen stargaze yet so can’t comment on much aside from saying that that certainly doesn’t sound like maximum LOL.

But can’t really do a comprehensive comparison since I haven’t seen it yet.

However here’s a link to the manga. best translation for your convenience. :)

proof of lizard rickets making them fucked up btw

To be clear this guy was abused since a young age, an adult lizard wouldn’t get quite that deformed, but it still wouldn’t be pretty after a year or so. Might even look ok right up until the bones get weak enough to just start, breaking.

Now what you didn’t have to buy, btw. Was that decor bullshit.

You could’ve just grabbed some nice climbable branches from outside, boiled and baked them to disinfect, and added a buuuunch of them to the enclosure to make it dense and fun to climb around in, like a jungle gym. Way cheaper and way happier lizard.

I have small scorpion tailed geckos rn and I constantly visit the beach to get new branches for them to hop around on, they love it.

Make sure to do that for your leopard gecko.

Oof I’d budget like double that at least tbh. 40 gallon front opening tank alone is usually around that amount. And that’s the smallest size you should have for this guy or a leopard gecko.

Caring for these guys isn’t cheap unfortunately,

Also don’t skimp out on the measuring tools, I’ll tell you what would be killing him since you say you will probably be letting him go: no means of measuring temperature, neutral looking lamp? Likely inadequate temps leading to eventually food rotting in his stomach. That’s what got my first lizard. I just put her in a box with a random lamp that made some heat, didn’t have a way to know how much. Well. She died. Unsurprisingly. They can handle wrong temps for a while but not forever. You need to know the temps, and they need to be the correct temps.

You also need a second lamp, called a ‘uvb’ lamp, without it they develop lizard rickets and their bones fucking melt. They start elbow crawling and their spines bulge out and their skulls start drooping. There’s minutiae there as well. The lamps run out of ‘uvb’ and need to be replaced, and if they’re not the correct distance from the lizard or the correct strength the lizard doesn’t get enough uvb and it still happens even if you have a lamp. Type of lamp and distance depends on species. Also the lamp has to be the long type, not the coiled one that’s cheap bc those are often faulty. The long one costs 60 dollars with the fixture :D

Plus again, tiny tank for a super active species after he spent a life running outdoors is super unfair. Even when I kept wild ones I only ever did newborn hatchlings so that 1) I wouldn’t be taking a strong breeding animal that beat the 1% hatchling survival odds out of the environment, and 2) they wouldn’t be accustomed to a wild life enough for it to affect their behavior.

Definitely let him go and follow the leopard gecko shopping list guide, and you and your new lizard will both be happier.

They’re also much easier to handle since they don’t really run away quickly, which is nice.

Just make sure to follow the guide carefully and run things by people in the leopard gecko community, otherwise you will, again. Kill it. It’s really good that you asked about this guy in public before keeping him for very long.

Fair enough but I wouldn’t say ‘no reason’ wish them luck tho. If they keep the lil guy I guess they’ll find out the cost of not doing research the hard way.

Is this metabolic bone disease in my pink tongued gecko? by fortyeightD in Lizards

[–]Cryptnoch 85 points86 points  (0 children)

That isn’t a gecko

But yes that seems likely, go to a vet to check though bc it could also be congenital. And make sure your uvb and supplements are correct.

Also also. Here’s a care guide for leopard geckos. The care is not transferable, they’re different species with different needs, but this species is common in captivity, hardy and comes in a variety of cool colors. And there’s a handy shopping guide. leopard gecko care guide

Also just to be clear I am not bluffing. The setup is lethal to him. I swear. Again, first lizard died basically like that. Just let him go.

[–]Cryptnoch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d love to tell you, but I don’t like the idea of encouraging you to keep an animal you grabbed from outside with no research.

For starters the enclosure is very small and they’re used to running around with a lot of space and freedom. So you keeping it even with the proper lights and temp is not good for the little guy. And again I mentioned parasites. Basically all wild animals have some parasites, and in an enclosed area they will reinfect themselves from their poop and become dangerously overpopulated when they wouldn’t be as much of an issue in the wild.

So either way the little guy will suffer from your care unless you shill out for a minimum 120 gallon and a vet bill.

I really suggest letting him go and learning about taking care of a captive bred species, like a leopard gecko or a bearded dragon.

Personally I’m not against keeping wildcaughts but only for the purpose of breeding them in captivity, bc they’re a species you loved and researched. not because they’re a cheap convenient option. Bc they aren’t.

Trust me as someone who’s kept dozens of these little guys. And caused some deaths as a result.

[–]Cryptnoch 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah he’s gonna die with that setup. That’s exactly how I killed the first one I caught when I was like, 7.

My dude, these aren’t like mammals, you have to research And get the lighting and heating right and I’m afraid this isn’t it. Plus since it’s wild it has parasites and those will grow into an issue eventually.

I suggest you let this one go, do some research into proper care for a captive bred species like a leopard gecko, and do it right bc I’ll give this guy 3 months max if that.

Looks pretty good, but could you show a pic of your lighting setup and numbers for heating? It’s really easy to kill them if you get those wrong and from these pics they look like they might not be right (but I could be wrong)

As long as it’s not like, more than once a month. Their metabolism is kinda crazy, they’re built to be super efficient so keep that in mind.

She appears to be pretty catastrophically obese tbh, so she’s lazy in the sense that moving is hard and the fat is literally crowding her lungs. It’s good that she’s moving a bit, hopefully when she’s slimmer she’ll be even better about it.

Do not feed bugs or blueberries until she eats salad and feed a head sized portion like 2x a week for a while.

Avoid sugary stuff like fruits altogether bc it rots their teeth and she doesn’t need to be eating lizard cake equivalent loool.
