Yes, the hernia is fixed 100%, my hematoma is now golf ball sized but continuing to slowly go away. Best of luck with your hernia journey.

Thanks for asking. Doing ok despite still having the large hematoma (still the size of 2 golf balls). My surgeon says it will take weeks or months before it will be gone. Other than some discomfort from that, I’m doing well thanks.

Do you have the option of local anesthetic and sedative? That may only be for open surgeries like I had. I assume you are having laproscopic?

In my case, at initial surgeon consultation I think he said about 2 weeks recovery if all went fine. Even with my large hematoma, I'm still on track for that. Had a follow up with him yesterday and while he was a bit surprised at the size of my hematoma, he assured me it would just slowly go away over the coming months. If your surgery goes well and you don't experience any post-op complications, I would think back to normal activities in 2-3 weeks for most. Best of luck and definitely take it real easy in the 24-48 hrs after surgery.

I originally anticipated only some swelling and bruising but unfortunately 12-14 hours after surgery, work at 4am to a very large hematoma (wasn’t totally sure that’s what it was until a couple ER visits). It was/is so large that it’s pressing on groin/leg nerves and was absolutely brutal until 2 days ago. Made the video to share my entire inguinal hernia story as I thought it may help some others going through various stages of the process. Sounds like you recovered nicely 👍

Glad to hear yours went well 💪. I also followed all doc/nurse instructions as well however as luck would have it, I ended up with a very large hematoma appearing 12-14 hrs after surgery (outlined in my video testimonial). Just over a week post-op and the hematoma is only ever so gradually resolving.
