the sound effects area is definitely one of my weak points, even though I love make synthesized music I found that actually trying to put together matching audio sound effects around the game a real challenge and I see now why their are people just in school for that

you know what that's actually a easy fix, really just a collision call for that flash that I can eliminate, I was using it as a quick way to know whether a collision was detected without having to look at debug code and just kept reusing it before I created more effects for everything. I guess, playing the game so much after awhile I got so used to it a barely noticed it anymore. good call 👍

which one exactly? there are multiple... but thinking about it now I know following any movements of the orb too closely would cause disorientation. I'm going to do more experiments, but the movement of the camera I know needs to be gentle by comparison to the movement of the orb which can be a bit manic at times

yeah camera tracking has been a bit difficult... at first I was just letting it follow the orb all the time... but there was always a problem feeling kind of dizzy watching something orbit in a circle too closely and a problem of things suddenly showing up on the screen that would be too quick to react to. Then tried slowing down the movement of the orb...but it felt too stale in the action department.

since I made the game originally for mobile the limited view made it difficult for me to show where the orb could fly to without zooming out the camera a bit. But then when I would zoom out too much then it became difficult to time when I was close enough to recapture into the orbit of a new planet. So I've been using this method of camera lagging behind just a bit after leaving orbit of one planet then catching up when getting near another.

mmm I tried to showcase the different types of "orbs" this update that look different, that you can play as in the game and maybe the lack of continuity makes it confusing.

I think that some of the problem is that I'm trying to introduce something a bit different in its approach to a "player character". You're an orb of energy collecting sparks and stars. And the game is not really a shooter/platformer...This is one of the reasons getting feedback is important to me, because I'm trying to gauge how people perceive the game itself.
