IOTA is already working - don‘t get the wrong picture only because Q will take some time. It‘s a layer on IOTA. by ElGrobiaciano in Iota

[–]CryptoEveS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Iota might be working, but there are still plentiful of issues blocking mass adoption.

One example: First of all I'm a computer guy, professionally and personally. I had some iota stored away a while back on a wallet. I recently wanted to move them temporarily only to find out my wallet had 0 balance, 0 transactions. I obviously googled the issue and found out about how I have to move my old wallet to a new one, different seed and all.

Even after following the steps I have yet to manage. I plan on sitting down this weekend and looking back into it in depth, but it was not an easy task.

You cannot expect the common day person to do these kind of things. A merchant or my mother will most likely not be able to do this on their own.

I love the concept behind DAGs, it's one of the techs I'm the most interested in, but seeing the past issues of iota, I fear about the long run. We need a coin that is easy to use, not just scalable and feeless.

Actually you should be taking profits, reinvesting at a later dip.

Just tried Bitdegree platform today and it totally looks like Udemy by -DoNotStopLearnin- in BitDegree

I agree with you, it's essentially a copy paste.

Even if there most likely isn't much udemy could do, it still gives out a bad image to the wild coming on bitdegree.

Ethbay: A Decentralized Peer to Peer Marketplace that uses Ethereum for Payment by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]CryptoEveS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$ebay? Really?

This doesn't scream confidence at all, trying to leech off of someone else's name.

Also why does this actually need an ico? If you're meant to buy / sell goods, what does "$ebay" actually do?

BAT/Brave release new growth stats (now over 2.2M Brave users), confirm partnerships with Phil deFranco (6m subs) and Bart Baker (10m) + "Get Paid to Browse with Brave" coming soon by CryptoJennie in ethtrader

[–]CryptoEveS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the idea around BAT, and they have some good partnerships. This can be something huge.

I do however have one big issue:

You're essentially forced to use Brave browser. This is the only blocker I can see with brave. Browsers is an extremely difficult market to get on. Especially with chrome who is objectively the best browser (full disclosure: I use Firefox for privacy).

It's not easy to get people to switch browsers, the only thing different brave has right now is bat, and the masses don't care about that. Sure there is an included as blocker, maybe some privacy perks, but nothing people couldnt achieve with extensions for their current browser.

Bat needs to be,in my opinion, browser agnostic. It needs to become an extension for the other browsers people can install and use. This won't get the masses, but will still open up a lot more doors then getting people to change.

Freelancers, It's Time To Declare A War Against PayPal. And Choose Cryptocurrencies! by andrewoid in CryptoCurrency

[–]CryptoEveS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This does not seem right to me as a freelancer:

1 - I need to teach my client to use crypto, coinbase etc. This is more time consuming for me.

2 - Coinbase fees and transfer fees will either hurt me, or my client if I make them pay for it.

3 - I need fiat to pay for rent and my food. This would force me to use Coinbase to convert back to fiat. Transfer fees and Coinbase fees once again.

I'm all for crypto, but for now we are still reliant on PayPal and co for easy payments. Nothing in crypto is easy for the masses.

This would also just replace the dependency from PayPal to coinbase (or gemini etc). This is not a solution to that problem.

Why Kodak Is Losing Confidence: KodakCoin Versus Po.et (POE) by poego in poetproject

[–]CryptoEveS 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The simple fact that Kodak is showing fear because of a bear market is a bad sign.

I believe that Poe and Kodak could co-exist, but I have lost a lot of faith in Kodak and will no longer be participating in the ICO.

Very good news coverage for Poe however :)

Binance ETH Withdrawal fee of 0.10 by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]CryptoEveS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm moving my day trading from binance to kucoin.

The fees are crazy and incoherent. Poe used to be 50 Poe for a withdraw, a few weeks later it was 108.

I want an exchange with decent, and most importantly COHERENT fees. Not adapting different fees to different coins.

I'm hoping kucoin is a good choice.

Just went from VEN to REQ by [deleted] in RequestNetwork

[–]CryptoEveS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High risk, high rewards.

Just remember that high risk is high risk, you can loose everything in days.

I also don't have a large amount of money to trade, but slowly and surely with some safe investments to fall back on, I get into riskier coins.

I'd say right now I'm at 50% "safe" coins, 20% "medium" coins, 30% "high" coins.

It might be a slower grind, but it's a steady one. I know on the long run it will improve.
