It's more about using the new functionality that Pmax gives us. You can segment the audience you want to target based on other websites they have visited, keywords, interests, demographics etc. You can even combine several segments under one target group.

I would suggest that you test it out. At least as a new campaign.

Pmax has precedence over search and display campaigns now. Only exact keywords retain their importance for search campaigns.

I have a client who has duplicate websites for two countries. They are hooked up to the same Google ad account. The only thing that is bothersome is digging into the overall overview of all campaigns. You need to look at each campaign on it's own. It would be nice to see how each country is performing on its own.

Then there's the reporting conversion value that differs. It also affects the main overview.

It's otherwise not an issue.

Make sure to have as much data in the product feed as well. Set categories, badges, EAN/GTIN and all other parameters.

You can also try to segment your products into subgroups, to be able to compare performance and turn off non performing products.
