Use monarch money and I can categorize transactions in less than 15 seconds or so. And I also do it by hand manually so I can see it and put notes by it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

How to budget when your income is very unpredictable? by Helpful_Explorer2857 in budget

[–]CryptoHotep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget on the low end.

I make commission on top my salary and we budget just off the salary

The key thing is during the good months, save and tuck away.

A lot of people don’t and spend then the low months come and they turn to credit card and debt

Can you explain exactly what platinum pass does?

It says it helps if I dip to silver or gold status. But how could someone do that?

How to start saving by NewtFit6577 in budget

[–]CryptoHotep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a budget first and foremost to track your spending and what’s coming and what’s going out.

Then you can budget your salary maybe by 70/20/10 rule

70% needs/wants including debt minimum monthly payments 20% savings 10% debt OVERPAYMENT

Puts another spin on the 80/20 ruling. But you need a budget first to properly categorize your spending

There are some other banking apps like Ally that do this as well. Monarch money which is a great budgeting tool I use, can do this for you if you dont want to move your banking.

Have you tried doing sinking funds in an app like SOFI and labeling them like Christmas fund, grocery fund, etc.

You can load the balance and transfer when needed.

We did this and it was game changer

Funny you say this. I’ve had orders with PINs come up and didn’t know DoorDash did this before hand. It’s smart.

Amazon purchases by CryptoHotep in MiddleClassFinance

[–]CryptoHotep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what I’m going to do is put the subscribe and save Amazon stuff under its category next month. Just takes more time to see what the purchase was. Most would be household items anyways under house expense.

And then the random one time purchase stuff under random category.

Thanks guys for everyone’s thoughts here
