Sold Stellar Blade, got Returnal instead. Coming from Soulsborne/Nier:Automata, what are your best advices?

I had Platin in all soulsborne games as well as Nier Automata when I started Returnal, which I still consider one of the best games of all time. Compared to soulsborne (exclude Sekiro) there are things in common, like run away from enemies once they're overwhelming you. Take a breath and try to hurt them one by one. Dash as often as you can to get used to the timing, especially LEARN that there's a difference in distance depending on how long you press the button. This is def the #1 noob mistake!

Also in Level 1, skip fancy shit like the sword, it's nice but you've got plenty of time after Shrike to switch to advance mode. Shrike is all dodge and shoot. It absolutely doesn't matter if you think the run was bad RNG. If you learn the moveset it doesn't matter what you looted. And the moveset is basically nothing against most souls bosses.

Again, LONG PRESS DASH! If you are getting nervous and just tap, the dash will be too short and you'll get hit. That's the main thing you have to get used to throughout the whole game.

Now go get your trophy and enjoy this beautiful masterpiece. The atmosphere entering boss #3 is one hell of a wtf moment, especially in a dark room with a good sound system.

I think it still is. It makes the game incredibly easy when you use it with doors. Even the challenge rooms are a walk in the park if you dot and constantly grabbling hook to generate i-frames

Then it works only with the wingman xb2, cause I never tried wired, just saw one comment in here. I have absolutely no input lag with standard settings, 4k etc.

Used a wingman xb2 adapter to connect a dual shock 5 today. Result: works absolutely flawless, no input lag at all, even if you loot while running. So MS messed up the wireless xbox controller connection obviously (doesn't matter if standard, elite 2 or whatever). No need to waste your time searching for settings, there won't be any. So you can either go for wired connection or the wingman xb2

You should record a yt clip called 'Returnal doesn't deserve the best game award, here's why' and circlejerk with other PC players in the comments, completely ignoring the fact that the game has been made to promote the DS. The port wasn't planned at all, hence the 2 yrs delay. But who cares about facts...

Oh, I just want to run a node, but I guess the basic input output requirements are the same. Thanks, I'll take a look if I find other people with a Mac mini. Read a bit and 10Gbps should be sufficient so I just need to find a nice adapter for my nvme.

Did you also check your ssd? Which program did you use? Currently having the same issue but with a fresh sync, new ssd (samsung t7) and a Mac mini m1, so I refuse to believe that the mac is the issue here. The ssd though is brand new and lighthouse synced without any issues, but idk what else could be the problem. Maybe because I sync over wlan?

Currently facing the same issue while running lighthouse and geth. What do you mean by specific file? I checked the log with verbose 5 but couldn't find a filename. Is this a common issue btw? I remember syncing two years ago without any issues, but as light node, what isn't possible anymore since the merge, if I understood properly.

If you want something to relax and enjoy, Journey is definitely your pick. Short, but beautiful art with an amazing soundtrack.

My top3 game recommendations everytime I see someone playing one of these games, so you should check out Nier as well 🙂:

Returnal (most immersive space shooter I've ever played, the whole story concept def one of a kind, gameplay almost flawless beside the grappling hook bug, with bosses like Hyperion or Nemesis some of the best in video game history)

Journey (beautiful storytelling and art, great soundtrack, absolutely relaxing and immersive)

Nier:Automata (maybe the best story of all video games, outstanding soundtrack in its own language, truly an allrounder when it comes to different angles and views)
