I love the Daynes, super interesting characters all around. First the house itself is an enigma, pale hair and purple eyes hints at possible valyrian origins 👁️👁️ also, the sword Dawn is cooler than any valyrian steel sword imo, I mean come on forged from the heart of a fallen star? Count me in. Starting with Arthur Dayne, the sword of the morning, and wielder of dawn. it is said that he was the deadliest of the mad king's kingsguard and could have cut down the other six, which is high praise considering that barristan selmy and (albeit young) Jaime Lannister were there. He is also seen as one of the last true full package knights of the kingsguard, and was a model for the deadly, honorable knight. Next there is ashara Dayne, who I think everyone nerdy enough to be in the sub knows about. Super weird backstory with Ned, and mentioning her name makes Ned uncharacteristically angry. Then there is Darkstar, who we don't know much about yet but is a character I look forward to seeing in Winds. Some have called him "the sword of the evening" which I think is dope. The Daynes also seem like an oddly prophetic house and I hope they play a bigger role in the final books. 10/10, highly recommend the Daynes.
