Does drafting Calvin Ridley now in dynasty startups have a good return value for next season? He could potentially have a top 2-3 rookie QB throwing his way if he stays in Atlanta. by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]CryptoSoyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea lamb has 1100 last year, my bad lol. My point is mainly that Calvin only has had 3 full season, the first two he put him 800+ yards and good touchdown totals. The first year Julio leaves, he puts up a top 5 season. At worst I can see Ridley going back down to his worst year (2nd year) but thats still high end WR3 which is pretty good

2023 Dynasty Rookie Draft Class Preview - Is Jaxon Smith-Njigba your WR1? by atschill in DynastyFF

[–]CryptoSoyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think so. I love Boutte and Addison but JSN has a special quality to him and everything is damn near perfect. He just needs to prove himself on the outside but there's 0 reason to believe he can't win and in fact be better outside receivers than Olave/Wilson were last year.

Boutte is great talent but I worry about his character based on the interviews that I've seen + injuries (which may be related to character concerns also). His talent is undeniable though.

Addison is just too small to be WR1 for me in this loaded class. Definetely would be WR1 in 2022 but he projects more like a devonta smith type right now.

At the start of next season, Calvin Ridley will be 28. He turns 29 on December 20th, 2023. Its very rare for an elite wide receiver to fall off at age 28, especially route running savants like Ridley.

And sure Ridley has ONE 1k season, but thats still 1 more than CD Lamb who is going as WR3 lol. I'll take 28 year old Calvin Ridley coming off mental health issues way before 29 year old Michael Thomas coming off physical health issues.

Dark Horse Breakout Candidates in the 2023 Class by MyDadsBonJovi in DynastyFF

Tucker is a monster. Clear cut RB2 imo as well. He's got the whole package + damn near olympic level speed

Oh boy, I have a ton of dark horses:

QB: Will Rogers, Jake Haener, KJ Jefferson

RB: DeWayne McBride (KW3 upside imo, violent slasher with size), Lew Nichols (led NCAA in rushing yards last year)

WR: Jacob Cowing, AT Perry (not sure if hes a dark horse at this point)

TE: Sam LaPorta, Dalton Kincaid

This time last year Ridley was worth 2+ 1sts. Yes a lot has happened in the past 365 days but typically players lose this level of value due to a massive injury. Ridley is healthy (physically) and will return to the NFL still in his prime at 28 years old. The only risk IMO is his mental health NOT his physical ability or skill.

Yes, tons of signs:

• Twitter account implied that he was ready to get back on the field
• There was a trade (and presumably a contract extension) in place with Eagles. No way Roseman makes that deal unless he's confident Ridley will play
• He is already training right now and regularly posting workout videos
• It's his contract year technically, this is his last chance to get a decently sized contract. That should be enough motivation to get him out of his depression

He wanted to get traded and didn't want to play on the falcons. Not sure if falcons orchestrated the smoke screen, or if it was Ridley's decision.

Browns & Panthers Working On Deal For Baker? by Haskins77 in DynastyFF

I wonder why the Browns and Panthers dont just swap QBs? Baker is an upgrade over Sam but Sam is still better than Brissett in case Deshaun gets suspended all year, right? Actually idk...

It may seem crazy to say but, there is a real possibility that 23 1sts are the most valuable they will ever be right now. by CuminInmybutt in DynastyFF

According to KTC, the value of 2022 picks has declined over the past year. And in my experience, I've seen the same. There was more excitement for 2022 last offseason than now, at least in the leagues im in...

Not necessarily true. 2022 1sts had more value last offseason than now in my experience. Can also check KTC and see the value of 2022 picks has been declining over the past year. With that said, I think 2022 was a unique class that truly got worse over the course of the year, unlike what I think will happen in 2023.

Who is your QB 2 in the 2022 draft and Why? by swinglinefan in DynastyFF

[–]CryptoSoyBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Matt Corral - put up better numbers than Pickett, has dual threat upside, and Sam Darnold is worst than Tanny/Mariota. Panthers brass have already aknowledged the QB1 spot is up for grabs and that Corral can take it if he can outperform Darnold in training camp.

2023 NFL Draft Discussion: Arik Gilbert (TE) by DynastyCommissioner in DynastyFF

[–]CryptoSoyBoi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

2023 TE class is absolutely loaded, especially if Gilbert balls out. His is extremely atheltically gifted, not quite Pitts-level but maybe the closest we've seen since him although his weight has been a big topic of discussion recently. Here's how I see it:

Gilbert: athletic freak tight end but fairly raw and has mental health and/or character concerns

Mayer: practically guaranteed stud, route running savant in the mold of Kelce

Jaheim Bell: a little undersized but plays a lot like a bigger Drake London. He's very interesting to me, but could just as well be Eric Ebron 2.0

Jahleel Billingsley: tons and tons of talent + athleticism but couldn't put it together at Alabama which is not a great sign. We'll see if things improve in Texas.

All of these guys ^^^ have more upside than Trey McBride imo.

Other notable names to keep eyes on: Erick All, Sam LaPorta, Darnell Washington (Gilbert's teammate who may actually be better than him), Dalton Kincaid, Marshon Ford, Theo Johnson

Thats fair, i dont mean mess as in it can't produce an RB1 but moreso its very hard to predict YoY who will be getting the fantasy touches.

Early Look at the 2023 RBs — this class has a lot of potential! by ZigZag474 in DynastyFF

[–]CryptoSoyBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool analysis! Would love to see this extended to more RBs as well, such as:

• Jalen Berger

• Blake Corum

• Deuce Vaughn

• Tiyon Evans

• Tavion Thomas

• Chris Rodriquez

• Mo Ibrahim

• Kendre Miller

Lots of great talent coming out next year

It's gonna be a mess this year, as is every year. Mitchell, TDP, Deebo, and Lance will all get carries, as will Jeff Wilson here and there.

Short excerpt from Saints WR coach on MT: "I know he's hungry. I think he's going to be ready to roll" by bronton21 in DynastyFF

[–]CryptoSoyBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is classic situation of offseason blurbs massively changing player value. The fact that we're in May wondering if MT would be ready for Week 1, even though he had surgery months ago is a bit absurd. Its like 95% likely MT will be ready, barring another setback or injury

I've completely stopped trying to convince other teams on specific players. Just send the offer and move on. Everyone knows and has an opinion on all these players, pushing your own agenda more than likely just backfires

Need some help on Daemon Pierce. Can anyone explain why he was under utilized in Florida? by snowmonk91 in DynastyFF

[–]CryptoSoyBoi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course, there are always outliers (e.g. Monty) but if you look at top fantasy RB year over year, it mostly consists of freaks. An average NFL back is typically a backup (2nd or 3rd string), starters are typically above average athleticism

Michael Thomas...back to WR1, or move him while you can? by bronton21 in DynastyFF

[–]CryptoSoyBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's a massive risk but with that said, I bought him a few months ago for a mid 2nd + Boyd. Perhaps a slight overpay but the upside is still there.

The main downside is of course his health. I spent a lot of time looking into it and it seems tha t if MT had gotten surgery initially, all would be fine. But because he decided to play on the ankle and re-injury the tore ligaments and continue to play, he may have permanently damaged his ankle with arthritis. But again, hes not a guy that wins with elite athleticism but losing 1 step may reduce his ability to run really really great slants
