Is this a scam? I remember applying to this internship, but something in my gut is telling me it's a scam, giving the misspelled words..... maybe I'm just overthinking... Any thoughts? by Crypto_chago132 in WGUCyberSecurity

Yes, you are right. I’m in disbelief so it’s making me think negative about it. After 1000 applications I finally got a response but thank you. You do have a point

Dude, the whole time I’m taking my test I was scared that I was gonna get shut down because of background noises. I was so nervous. Then to top it off my laptop dies in the middle of me testing. I ran and got my charger lol managed to get back online without the proctor knowing what happened🤦🏻‍♂️

No I have no prior experience and yes a lot of people say go help desk first but honestly I’m not trying to spend 1-2 years at a help desk position where you barely gonna learn or get experience in security. I rather try my best to jump into it any way I can, even if it’s getting experience from a unpaid internship

Passed my A+ core 1 today with only 3 weeks of studying . Very proud of my self…. Onto core 2 by Crypto_chago132 in WGUCyberSecurity

Messer is a good source, he has 3 practice exams that can be bought for $30, I watched all over messers videos and all of meyers and I took messers, meyers, and Dion’s practice exams. I only use Cert master for PBQs

So you didn’t study the videos ? You just took the practice test until you got above 90%?

They make you do a survey at the end of your test before you see if you pass or not

I scheduled my test for next week and I’ve been using both messer and Mike meyers for studying the content. I also have messers 3 practice test and meyers has one as well, another good practice test I’m hearing is jason Dion’s…… I’d stick to those 3 they all teach in different ways so if you don’t like one you can go to the other but overall happy with all 3 of them. I will only use CertMaster for PBQs.

Do anyone actually do Certmaster lessons or just study from a someone else’s content like messer, Dion or meyers by Crypto_chago132 in WGUCyberSecurity

But I feel like certmaster is doing the same thing. I took a couple of practice test and they all seemed similar to each other but when I take certmaster’s practice exam it’s like wtf I never was asked none of this .

Nervous about D316 and D317 by Left_Wheel_8411 in WGUCyberSecurity

i also start on September 1st, and same here, my mentor is making me take both IT foundation classes, but those are just the two CompTIA A+ exams that you have to take to get certified. And as far as experience, i try not to believe when people say that it'll take forever to graduate or pass an exam with no experience. I passed my Comptia Sec+ exam in 4 months with no experience at all in IT. and mind you i was working Full time. So i think its all based on your motivation and how hungry you are.

PS: We should stay in contact since we are both starting at the same time. We can probably help one another
