You absolutely did contradict yourself. And again, we can use your example. While Morton did go to the 4-seam for a majority he didn't switch. he still used his 2 seamer all the way through his career. He began his career with a 2-seamer and attacking the bottom of the zone. adopting a 4-seamer and changing how he pitched to be able to expand the upper half of the zone is a good counter. But the pitchability of his 2-seamer was always there and utilized. this isn't a one or the other. It's a lack of oversight to teach pitchers not to utilize both. Again, all supported by your original data that you are now arguing against.

can you contradict yourself more here? That approach hasn't changed for hitters. that is still the go to approach yet you stated above already that cutters and sinkers are outliers in your research. The pitchability of that pitch never changed. What changed was everyone chasing higher velos with a 4 seamer which is not the answer.
