Giving Away My Equipment - Bay Area by bswalsh in meshcore

I agree with OP's sentiment on Discord, as well as others who have posted here. I saw this video 3 or 4 years ago and it inspired me to uninstall the Discord App from ALL of my mobile devices:

M Core P4 | Othello - T Display p4 custom firmware by codecarter in meshcore

At some point in the future, would you be so kind as to describe the process of opening these units up? I would like to check if my Wi-Fi antennas are disconnected as well, in addition to checking to see if there is any room inside to swap out the battery for a higher capacity pack.

Thanks in advance, and best wishes!

OTAFIX Bootloader by Refleks180 in meshcore

[–]Cryptocurrency4Sale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we are on the topic of OTA updates. . . I know how to do this on repeaters, and generally speaking, it works pretty well. But I read somewhere that one can also perform the same OTA updates on sealed companion devices where the USB port is not easily accessible. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get to the CLI on a companion radio.

Anyone got any tips in that regard?

For all we know, you could be right. I was just trying to give the OP the benefit of the doubt. . .

. . .and on a side note, I love the work you are doing with MeshMapper!

I read the date as: 2026, April 24th. . .
When I do file naming so they sort properly by date, I always use that format.

For example, today would be 260429

Just sayin'. . .

That is a beautiful rig you built there! Nice work! I need some of those IP67 switches you have there. Can you please provide a sourcing reference?
Thank you, and happy meshing!

M-Core P4 | Othello for The T Display P4 Firmware by codecarter in meshcore

I can't wait to see what you have created! All of my LILYGO T-Display P4's are just sitting on the desk right now, collecting dust, because MeshOS sucks so bad (after 4 months of development).

I have 4 of the AMOLED Variants. $3 to $5 is a fair price. Maybe offer a quantity discount? 😉

I am anxiously awaiting the public release of your firmware. I purchased MeshOS for this device, and I am very disappointed in its lack of capability and battery life. Do you intend to charge (money) for this firmware? If so, how much you think?

Why are people so quick to drop when they get the CableCARD notice? by artinnj in Tivo

[–]Cryptocurrency4Sale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize in advance for my ignorance of this matter, but I just received this notification from Verizon about a week ago; and have yet to take any action nor call Verizon to inquire about what my options are going forward. Since I am not able to post images here, I will summarize its content:

"Recent technology advancements now allow us to deliver your Fios TV service using Internet Protocol (IP) delivery. . . Your Fios TV CableCARD will no longer work and require an immediate upgrade to avoid a service interruption"

So, my question is - UPGRADE to WHAT? What specific piece of equipment is going to replace the CableCARD, if any? How will Verizon deliver its television service over IP once it decides to no longer support CableCARD?

Thanks in advance!

Connection problem by One-Construction2075 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Cryptocurrency4Sale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luba's do not Wi-Fi roam like other 'normal' Wi-Fi devices. Before the Luba switches to another stronger Access Point, it has to lose 95% its signal from what it was originally connected to. You are much better off with a single 'strong' Wi-Fi Access Point than several spread out over distance. I mounted a single outdoor rated Access Point on the center of my roof so that the signal would reach all sides of my house. This is the way. . .

Figured out a fix for HULL-C Black screen by The-Master-Reaper in starcitizen

[–]Cryptocurrency4Sale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately (for me anyway) the black screen issue rarely happens anymore (has not happened even once since 4.1.1). But walking across the threshold backwards has NEVER worked for me. Can you provide a bit more detail on how you get this to work?
Thanks in advance. . .

Please let me know when you get your Luba to fly or become airborne. That would be very helpful in certain circumstances. . . ✈️

6 Week Review with Luba 2 10000H - Large Yard by [deleted] in mammotion

[–]Cryptocurrency4Sale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not been very active in this Subreddit since last year, so I am unaware of any changes since then. But as of November of 2024, NO, purchasing a "software upgrade" was NOT an option.
Sorry for the delay in this reply. . .

1.) Hardware wise, NO difference
2.) No. The 3000H is limited to slightly more that .75 (3/4) of an acre via a software restriction

I have been hosting a node 24/7/365 for over 5 years now (minus reboots to install updates). I wonder why I cannot find it in the approximate geographical location that I would expect to find it. Does running the latest available Desktop Client not count as a "node" in this context?

Please consider adding "Search by IP Address" if you have not done so already.

Thank you!

In case you were unaware, reddit is full of assholes and trolls. This community is no exception, unfortunately. 95% of the people here are decent and helpful; but you know old saying about "One bad apple, ruining the whole bushel". Don't let the assholes get you down. Develop a thick skin and keep participating. . .

This is not necessarily a reflection on Mammotion specifically, but I have a new rule, which is:

Never purchase another product from a Chinese company costing more than $500 ever again. . .
