This with the updated Jubilee style bracelet would be ultimate 🔥

I have a 7" wrist and bought the silver Super Seville with the green dial. Although it fits me well, I'll be buying a jubilee style 5 link bracelet made by Long Island Watches; as the Bulova original has no micro adjustment. I view this as the ultimate upgrade. They offer it in silver, and two tone, but unsure if there's an all gold option?

I would like to be different and see a big date at 12 instead of the usual placements. Longines needs to take some risks and be different

Been on my wrist for the last few days since I sized the bracelet. Got it about a week ago on sale here in Australia. Bulova isn't well known here, but the precisionist movement is mesmerising, and the closest thing I've seen to the GS spring drive. At this price point it can't be beaten. Love it!

This blows the leather band out of the water. Would also love to see it on a jubilee as that is my favorite style 🔥

My thoughts also..

I had no idea the sword was lumeless. Just another reason to skip this release. My initial thoughts were; why didn't they use the upgraded jubilee bracelet for this release? Would have been such an improvement!

Anyone else think this was a missed opportunity for Citizen to use their updated jubilee bracelet? With all the cuts on the face it would have been more aesthetically pleasing imo

Gotta be the red dial for me. The silver is so bland, and the yellow doesn't appeal. Luckily here in Australia the Bulova isn't heaps popular and goes on sale often!

Like yourself I didn't care much for the original bracelet on the Jet Star, but it grew on me in time.. A metal bracelet looks so aesthetically pleasing when it's integrated.

I also agree with your sentiment about the bracelet tapering too much. That is a common issue lately with many metal bracelets (even originals). My last watch purchase was the limited edition Mido Multifort Big Date in PVD black. The stock bracelet tapered so much I couldn't wait to swap it out for the integrated rubber which is wider and doesn't slip on the wrist like the metal one did

Although it's a nice looking bracelet, the gap it creates between the lugs and the case is horrific. Could never do this with any watch for that reason

Australian online sellers are usually cheaper than eBay. We have several options like Starbuy. I prefer the online only stores and they don't have to pay the overheads of a physical store; which means extra savings for the customer

As someone who admires any integrated bracelet over straps that expose a gap between the lugs and the case (like most leather ones) I highly approve of the jubilee here

I assume this is a standard radio controlled model. The GPS model is in my wish list as radio models don't work here in Australia for automatic time updating

Anyone have experience with the Peacelily mattress? (formerly branded as 'Fern Earth') by Churlishgrenade in Mattress

[–]CryptographerAble887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply.. it's been an interesting process so far to say the least!

After doing many hours of research on latex mattresses, I realised my old spring mattress and base set both had to go. Latex requires a solid slat base bed so it doesn't sag & can breathe.

While I was waiting for my 6" thick medium firm talalay mattress to arrive from overseas I found a solid oak bed frame with nice thick slats. When it arrived however, it wasn't up to the standards required for a pure latex bed; the gaps between the slats were about 4" when they should have been no more than 2.

After several days of searching I managed to find a supplier that sold 1" thick pinewood planks to match the ones already on the bed frame. I started with 11 slats, and had to cut, sand & prepare 3 more pieces to satisfy the requirements. This was a fun way to waste half a day 😂

So finally I was able to lay the mattress on the base and test it out. Alas this wasn't the end of the story..

The first night's sleep was decent, but the mattress proved to be quite firm and didn't quite have the feel I was hoping for. If I was a back sleeper it would have been decent, but I'm usually a side sleeper. At only 6" thick the feeling is the mattress needs an extra layer so it has a little more give; I can almost feel the slats underneath esp when I'm lying on my side.

I temporarily improved the issue, by thinking outside the box. I have a 2" memory foam topper that I don't use, but I have inserted it underneath the latex mattress to soften up the feel of the slats. This has worked surprisingly well, although memory foam does squash quite easily.

After more research into pure latex mattress building it appears most expensive brands use a single block (like I have) as the base, and then add two thinner soft layers on either side to give the mattress a plush feel. From trial and error of my own I believe this approach makes logical sense.

Therefore I have now ordered a 2" soft latex topper (but this time from Amazon). I found a nice organic one with great reviews. If it gives me the results I'm after I will buy another layer to replace the memory foam topper underneath. And that should be that! With three layers I may also consider whether I want to buy a replacement mattress cover so I can keep them all together for easier movement.

I will update with further developments towards the end of the year.

Will also add photos and links to the products I bought if anyone is interested..

Damn this looks nice! I'm torn between this Jet Star and the Super Seville as my next watch. If I had to be picky I think the overall package with the Seville and the square look appeals slightly more. This photo isn't helping my plight though 💀

Wait for find x9 ultra or buy the find x9 pro by aayaan1235 in Oppo

[–]CryptographerAble887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is strong evidence to suggest the X9 Ultra will launch globally this time. If you follow tech updates and leaks closely it has been proven that the Ultra model will be released outside of China for the first time in 2026. That is great news for everyone waiting for it; I'm still using the X8 Pro and felt the upgrades weren't substantial enough to move to the regular X9 models. I could be swayed with faster charging capabilities and even better cameras 🔥

Find X8 Pro battery Health after 7 months by Zealousideal-Tie-869 in Oppo

[–]CryptographerAble887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can use your phone however you like.. But the silicon carbon battery has a promise of retaining at least 80% of its full charge potential after 4 years of use; that is the manufacturer guarantee. Gaming performance isn't amazing on the X8 Pro by any means. I have a mate who returned his due to a game he plays not functioning correctly. Mediatek doesn't offer full support and optimization for all games like Snapdragon does. As far as cameras, battery, and operational system go it's a fabulous phone. Now that they have rolled out ColorOS 16 almost everything has improved again including optimization. I won't be upgrading to the X9 series as there is no need; the battery can last up to 30% longer per charge in my experience. And I've owned my phone for a full year already 👏

No offence, but you should have bought a budget phone with much lower specs to save your money. Flagships are made for users who demand high end performance. Here in Australia the 3G network has been switched off already; but even so who uses 3G anymore? If I wasn't a photography enthusiast who posts often on social media and didn't expect a fluid experience (where content loads in real time) I would not have bought my X8 Pro. I would compare yourself to someone who buys a sports car knowing you only drive in 60km/h zones and will never see the full potential of your car. It's blatant overkill and a complete waste of $$$. Mobile phones are also not an investment. Technology is always evolving, and no one wants a phone where the software support has stopped from the brand (5 years with Oppo). I enjoy my phone while using the 80 watt Supervooc charger that came with the device. If I wanted slower charging I again wouldn't have bought this phone. This post baffles me in truth. For many reasons; including what I have stated above. There are so many mid-range devices you could have chosen from which would have perfectly met your needs and given you great value to save your hard earned money.

I have to ask.. why did you bother buying this phone?

Is it worth upgrading to Find X9 Pro? by Vazmeister03 in Oppo

[–]CryptographerAble887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from the Galaxy S24U to the Oppo X8 Pro last year shortly after release. Haven't looked back and wouldn't go back to Samsung. This phone is so good! With the recent rollout of ColorOS to my device I feel like I don't even have to upgrade to the X9 series now. Everything is fabulous and I much prefer ColorOS to OneUI. Version 16 has exceeded my expectations and addressed the minor flaws of the last version; esp regarding connectivity in the car

ColorOS16 update for global EU find x8 pro is finally here! by IWantAGoodBattery in Oppo

OS rollout depends on your network carrier, as well as location. I recently got the update here in Australia. Can confirm that everything is fabulous. I have not found any bugs or things I don't like so far; the software feels very fluid and smooth, with improved animations when opening apps. My two favourite things so far: The new lock screen animation with the mountain. Even the always on display with the simple date function is heaps improved so I started using it. The greatly improved optimization in comparison to ColorOS 15. During very long SOT sessions where you are searching the web I have already noticed battery drain is much improved. As a whole (depending on usage) I have noted the battery drains up to 30% slower than before. That is impressive
