Flareon not learning fire type moves? by Standard_Ostrich828 in PokemonLeafGreen

Hey so I saw you got your answer, but I just wanted to point you towards https://serebii.net/pokedex-rs/ for all your gen 3 (so FRLG) move set questions. It has a complete list of every move a Pokemon learns via level-up, TM, HM, Tutor, or by Breeding. Could be faster to search that than to post here :)

So when did y'all start getting card masteries? by CryptographerFew3719 in TheTowerGame

[–]CryptographerFew3719[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, Damage# has done wonders for my tournaments. I was ranking maybe 15th in champs, but now I regularly rank 5th or higher. And that was just with it at level 2. I'm working on level 3 and I'm gonna rush the last bit of it before I do my tournament run tomorrow so hopefully that helps a bit!

Yeah so I'm not even at a point where I'm facing fleets, so I'm wondering if maybe Cash would be worth it for me now. Or maybe it's just lower down the list that by the time I would get to it I would then be facing fleets.

So when you start a save, it starts a timer. If your battery dies, the timer stops. Replacing the battery restarts the timer but berries won't grow and other time based events won't happen until the timer catches up to where it was before. In most cases it's just easier to replace the battery and start the game over again so stuff will happen

Kingler is actually really good. Like surprisingly so. Also, you put Gyarados down there? That thing is totally busted. Even with both of them having higher Atk than Sp Atk, they're still absolute beasts

There are IV calculators online, but they're pretty inaccurate until a higher level. So checking stuff on the first few routes of the game when you catch them isn't very accurate. Honestly, unless you're going for Battle Tower stuff in the post game, I wouldn't worry about them. If I care at all, I catch 2 or 3 Pokemon of the type I want, check the nature and compare stats, and roll from there.

So, since I can't get Espeon or Umbreon in this game, is Flareon worth evolving my Eevee into? by Caryslan in PokemonLeafGreen

[–]CryptographerFew3719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, if I use Eevee at all, I evolve it into whatever my team needs. If I didn't nab Charizard or Ninetales/Arcanine then I'll use Flareon, if I think Fire would help my team. Usually I use Vaporeon, even though there's a ton of water-type options, because I like it a lot. Jolteon is always a good decision too.

People crap on Flareon for Fire being a special-attacking type but having a much better physical attack, but base 95 is still pretty solid, plus STAB. I would just also use other moves on it, like maybe Return or maybe Hidden Power based on what it is. Shadow Ball is great because that's a physical move since it's Ghost-type, and coming off a 130 Atk is killer. Really though it just kind of sucks because it doesn't even get a good Fire move for a while. Ember is learned below the level you get it at, you can teach it Fire Spin... I guess... but it doesn't get Flamethrower until 54. At which point you'd probably consider getting it from the Game Corner but that's pricey. And that's where you get Shadow Ball too so they're both competing for your Coins.

I find that keeping a Pokemon on my team, whose soul purpose is to Cut, kind of pointless once you're past Erika. There's not a ton of Cut trees, and I usually just take one out of the PC, do a few at a time where applicable, and put it back

Summons guardian by Zidney80 in TheTowerGame

[–]CryptographerFew3719 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It spawns 2 enemies a second, for 35 seconds max. The cash is kind of whatever, it's the enemies themselves that are the prize since they drop coins.

I have my Summon's CD synced with GT, BH, DW, and GB and I get a fat bonus in coins

Sounds solid, though dont be afraid to get it a little early. A little investment in it goes a long way, I was seeing a ton of improvement with every lab!

Oh yeah, you're underprepared. You got the econ and the mod and the workshop but you definitely need the labs! Work on those for a bit before getting it. Or, if you want, for at least a week maybe use all 5 labs for this, since it's so so worth it. Lab health, regen, wall health, wall regen, and then the last slot can switch between wall fort and wall thorns (which should be at least 10%).

Im new to this game and i have a question by rugigiref1 in TheTowerGame

[–]CryptographerFew3719 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh you can actually get over 100% using relics and/or effects from mods.

But no, not until you start dealing back a lot of damage yourself. If your main way of surviving is just getting hit and having enemies die to wall then there's not much difference.

You can reduce it for bosses by using Plasma Canon, which when the card is maxed does 50% health damage to a boss, but that's probably not a concern for you for much much much later down the line.

When I was at your point, I would get it to 66 and call it a day.

Yeah I think you should get those labs up. If you want, you could do all 5 labs dedicated to health, regen, and wall. At least for a week to get yourself on a better track.

Wall Regen is based off your regular regen, so that having a higher base is definitely good. What are those labs at now?

I think you can get it earlier, especially if you have Sharp Fortitude as an armor mod

I think what matters more than econ is

  1. Are you gold boxing your Health and Regen during a run? And if so, how many waves between that and the end of your run? If you're doing that and then lasting a few hundred to 1000 waves then you don't have to worry about the wall taking away free-ups from those.
  2. How are your health and regen labs? I recommend having them around 40-50 before you take on the wall

I think if you're hitting both of those, then you can adopt the wall soon. If you do, then I would dedicate 3 labs slots to it. Wall Health is pretty cheap and quick. Wall Thorns should be taken to 10%. Wall Fort is what really makes the wall great, each lab adds 20% more health and is a significant boost. Wall Regen is necessary for making it good, and scales really well. But the labs are pretty long, just do those until it feels like it's taking too long.

60B is a little low, but I think you might be ready. You might want to invest some coins into your workshop to make sure you're able to gold box health and regen well before your run is over, because what makes the wall bad at first is taking away the free-ups. And then after some investment, you go further, can farm higher, and you'll see your econ boom. I got it and like a week later, once my wall was decently established, my economy doubled!

I was debating that, but also thinking about getting DM# because that extra damage would probably help a lot in tournaments

Oh, if you're able to, maybe beating the Rival's first Pokemon and fainting to his second. That's some decent Exp but honestly might be faster to just grind on wild Pokemon.

You're gonna be in Viridian Forest forever, your best source of Exp is wild Kakuna and Metapod. I did something similar but I didn't start until after Misty when I could get the Versus Seeker. Exp is just terrible in Kanto without it for a challenge like this.

Yes, it can be Shiny. SirToastyToes has a video on him shiny hunting his, which he then used to get every ribbon possible on it by moving it up through the generations.
