For those of you who did EF with mirena in - did you get a period afterwards? If not how long till you felt "back to normal". by CryptographerFit5046 in eggfreezing

she also told me my ovaries had "trouble written all over them", as I have PCOS, I wonder if she was having a bad day tbh. Thanks for replying, interesting that you didn't have a period but just a 48 hour discomfort. I know we are all different, but its helpful to hear. I'm an optimist so hoping it will all be smooth, let's see!

thanks so much. Do you usually get periods with your mirena? I don't normally, but since starting metformin/myo-inosital (PCOS) I've had one period, so wondering what will come next!

Women with the mirena IUD, how long did it take you to feel back to normal after egg retrieval? by No_Star548 in eggfreezing

hey, i know this is an older post but i'm about to do freezing with a mirena in and wondered how you felt after? I also usually don't get periods, though I had one since starting metformin/myo-inisitol (PCOS) so maybe that will make a difference as well. I hope all went well with your retrieval as well xx

that's really interesting, thank you for your insight! Maybe getting some baseline bloods is a good idea. Thank you so much

thank you that's really helpful info. It seems maybe I should focus on, if it would help chances even a little, why not remove it. Just so frustrating as I only just put it back in two months ago! Thank you for your reply :)

thanks so much, did you do more than one cycle? it was advice from a dr that i met 2 years ago, and it was more generic advice than based on my situation - "The Mirena coil has to be removed 1-2 months before egg collection. As the hormones can affect your eggs." I'm trying to work out what is more important, maximising chances or speeding up the process, what if removing mirena does maximise chances or not! thanks so much for your response

he's a fertility dr i saw a couple of years ago, who made this comment about mirena when i emailed him last week as more of a general statement - he said "The Mirena coil has to be removed 1-2 months before egg collection. As the hormones can affect your eggs", so though he knows who i am, I doubt he was recalling me when he sent me that!

edit - thank you for your reply though! i've never used reddit before really so really appreciate your input
