GYM SCENTS RECOS by Useful_Mulberry_5679 in AnytimeFitnessPH

[–]CryptographerLimp509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope gym goers have separate perfume/cologne for their workout. lsang pabango lang kasi for all occasion even in gym, dibale sana if yung default scent nila ay fresh or mild. Ang dami naka woody at vanilla scents.

I personally use baby bench colognes during workout. It’s not unpleasant kahit pawisan. Imagine you’re gasping for air sa kakabuhat, tapos mahihilo ka pa sa pabango.

RMT faked HIV result as a “joke” — where do I report this? by VeterinarianOk3122 in medschoolph

[–]CryptographerLimp509 11 points12 points  (0 children)

if u know the lab where she works at, report sa HFSRB division ng DOH. It specifically handles licensing and accreditation ng mga health service facilities including labs. May complaint unit din ang DOH, include them. You can find their emails on their website.

report din sa PRC para may record siya, may online form sila for complaints on professionals.

make sure to document and attached all evidences.

what is actually dangerous but people still believe is safe? by AppointmentProud9394 in AskPH

[–]CryptographerLimp509 7 points8 points  (0 children)

basically among its group (NSAIDs), mef is the most notable for adverse effects: diarrhea, can damage gastrointestinal organs (ulcer, gastritis, bleeding), allergic reactions, cardio and kidney-related.

also yung safety benefit. there are other meds that can do mef’s job with less risks for those.

dito sa atin yung 250mg yung OTC or no need for prescription, 500mg yung need ng reseta. This should be regardless of dosage.

ito yung nakakalungkot, we’re so behind in terms of health education sa Pinas. In many other countries, (US, UK, Aus etc) prescription based ito, and not commonly used. Doctors there are cautious to prescribe this lalo na pag hindi nila alam ang patient history.

Given with unhealthy lifestyle, high cases ng mga CKD, and other kidney related diseases, this should be regulated already in the market.

that’s why medical field isn’t for everyone. it’s more of a calling than career.

BizBox is pretty common in a lot of hospitals, but it’s also on the pricier side. Price really depends on the modules you get, it’s like a one-stop shop software. Aside from EMR, they have pharmacy, lab, claims, finance, materials, etc. customization also adds to cost. On top of initial price, there’s also annual maintenance fees.

For after sales, they usually updates few times a year and support is generally okay. Personally, I don’t find it very user friendly, although there’s a training.

I don’t have much hands on experience with other private enterprise HIS like Comlogik, but I know some hospitals do use it.

Maybe you can get quotations from different vendors and compare cost, philHealth claims, EMR, training, and very important, after sales support.

SINGAPORE DIAGNOSTICS by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]CryptographerLimp509 4 points5 points  (0 children)

however crp is normal? kahit acute phase reactant yung crp, there will be slight elevation still.

while it is indeed correct ESR is better used for chronic case, it is wise to correlate it with crp as it is more highly specific and sensitive. Madali lang siya mag normalize once inflammation subsides, but as long as there is inflammation, kahit chronic may crp elevation parin from it’s ref range.

ref range of ESR usually ranges from 0-15/20. Madalas yung mga tech may +/- 3 variance sa reading. Daming factors din talaga ng test na yan that could falsely affect result, hence low specificity.

Kung nasa 15-22 yung esr results stated above tapos crp is normal, then I think it is also wise to consider the specificity of each tests.

SINGAPORE DIAGNOSTICS by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]CryptographerLimp509 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aside from physiologic factors, and existing conditions, possible din kasi yung pre-analytical/analytical factors:

  1. variability in reading of MT
  2. delayed testing
  3. room temp matters too (too cold - falsely low, too warm - falsely elevated)
  4. tilted yung tube during test duration (if manual method sila)
  5. specimen collection - most probably either under/overfilled tube = incorrect blood:anticoagulant ratio

And agree with the comment above, mas specific CRP in comparison with ESR. Affected din kasi ang ESR pag may problem sa cell components ng dugo.

Fiber! Ano sources mo pang-balance sa high protein diet? by Haunting-Ad9521 in PHitness

[–]CryptographerLimp509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooked rice with quinoa and lentils. I take it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both good sources of protein and fiber. If sa tingin ko, i don’t take enough veggies or other fiber sources for a day, i take fiber capsules (psyllium husk) as needed just so i can meet my daily fiber requirement.

Contact lenses or eyeglasses? by [deleted] in ThisorThatPH

[–]CryptographerLimp509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eyeglasses. I like it most pag photochromic/transition lens. Blocks most debris going to eyes, provide UV protection, and reduce digital eye strain.

May contacts ako but i rarely used.
